Mit Sauerstoff-Mikroelektroden werden die lokalen Werte des Sauerstoffpartialdruckes im Mikrobereich der Organe gemessen und graphisch als Haufigkeitsverteilungen (Histogramme) dargestellt. Theoretisch wird der Einfluss der Kapillaranordnung (Gleich-, Gegenstromsystem und Kapillarnetzwerk) auf die Haufigkeitsverteilung der P02 Werte untersucht. Die fur zweidimensionale Modelle durchgefuhrte Analyse zeigt, dass Unterschiede in der Durchblutung, wie sie in den einzelnen Zweigen der Kapillarnetzwerke auftreten, einen starken Einfluss auf die Histogramme haben.

Right axillary artery cannulation is well established in aortic surgery because it significantly improves survival and outcome, but malperfusion of the right brain after direct cannulation has been reported. [EN] The aim of this study is to characterize in resting-state conditions the cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) signals of fibromyalgia patients. The anterior and middle cerebral arteries of both hemispheres from 15 women with fibromyalgia and 15 healthy women were monitored using Transcranial Doppler (TCD) during a 5-minute eyes-closed resting period. Resume Objectifs Decrire les troubles de la marche (TM) au cours des demences primitives, leurs consequences et l’interet de leur prevention et reeducation. Methode Analyse des articles les plus pertinents disponibles sur Medline concernant la marche et la demence. Resultats La prevalence des TM et de l’equilibre dans la demence de type Alzheimer varie de 9 a 52 %. Les marches frontale et apraxique y sont decrites. Dans la demence vasculaire, les TM a type de marches hemiparetique, frontale et unsteady, sont observes chez plus de 71 % de patients et sont probablement un marqueur precoce de cette demence. Anderson–Fabry disease (AFD) is a rare disease with an incidenceof approximately 1:117,000 male births. Lysosomal accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (Gb3) is the element characterizing Fabry disease due to a hereditary deficiency α-galactosidase A (GLA) enzyme. The accumulation of Gb3 causes lysosomal dysfunction that compromises cell signaling pathways. Deposition of sphingolipids occurs in the autonomic nervous system, dorsal root ganglia, kidney epithelial cells, vascular system cells, and myocardial cells, resulting in organ failure. Neurons and ECM regulate occludin localization in brain endothelial cells

We report that extracellular matrix and neurons modulate the expression of occludin, one of the main components of tight junctions, by rat brain endothelial cells (RBE4.B). Of the three extracellular matrix proteins which we tested (collagen I, collagen IV, and laminin), collagen IV stimulated at the best the expression of occludin mRNA. The corresponding protein, however, was not synthesized. Significant amounts of occludin accumulated only when RBE4.B cells were cultured on collagen IV-coated inserts, in the presence of cortical neurons, plated on laminin-coated companion wells. The main goal of this work is to determine theoretically the capability of REG techniques to reflect intracranial blood flow.
