Follow-up trends of parasite community alteration in a marine fish after the Prestige oil-spill: shifting baselines?

This study evaluates the follow-up trends in the composition and structure of the parasite communities in the marine sparid Boops boops after the Prestige oil-spill. A total of 400 fish comprising 11 seasonal samples was analyzed from three impacted localities on the Atlantic coast of Spain. A large number of parasite species was recovered only after the spill thus suggesting a substantial alteration of the marine food webs. Post-spill communities exhibited higher richness and abundance due to the significant changes in the abundance of the common species, the latter indicating accelerated parasite transmission rates. The occurrence of old-growth forests is quite limited in Mediterranean islands, which have been subject to particularly pronounced human impacts. Little is known about the carbon stocks of such peculiar ecosystems compared with different stages of secondary succession. We investigated the carbon variation in aboveground woody biomass, in litter and soil, and the nitrogen variation in litter and soil, in a 100 years long secondary succession in Mediterranean ecosystems. This Article analyses the effects of succession of States in respect of international treaties on human rights. This is a matter not codified by the Vienna Convention on Succession of States in respect of Treaties. We have to bear in mind that human rights treaties have been adopted by international organisations, which have developed their own practice both for the succession of States as States Members of an international organisation and for the succession of States as Contracting Parties to treaties that the United Nations, the Council of Europe or the European Union have adopted in the field of human rights.

Ņemot vērā pieaugošo cilvēku kustību un kapitāla apriti Eiropas Savienībā, tās likumdošanas iestādes ir pielikušas ievērojamas pūles, lai saskaņotu ar pārrobežu mantošanu saistīto likumdošanu. Tiesību aktu saskaņošana ir veicinājusi nepieciešamību pēc augstas kvalitātes juridiskajiem tulkojumiem, it īpaši mantojuma tiesību kontekstā. Šī iemesla dēļ šajā pētījumā tika pētītas tendences ar mantošanu saistīto terminu pārnesē Latvijas 1937. gada Civillikuma tulkojumā, izmantojot kvalitatīvo analīzi.
