Differentiation of an additive interval measure with values in a conjugate Banach space

2014

We present a complete characterization of finitely additive interval measures with values in conjugate Banach spaces which can be represented as Henstock-Kurzweil-Gelfand integrals. If the range space has the weak Radon-Nikodým property (WRNP), then we precisely describe when these integrals are in fact Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrals.

EVALUATION OF THE COLOR OF SOME SPANISH UNIFLORAL HONEY TYPES AS A CHARACTERIZATION PARAMETER

1992

Abstract The color of 7 types of Spanish unifloral honey from rosemary, orange blossom, lavender, eucalyptus, sunflower, heather, and honeydew was Investigated for Its potential use as a characterization parameter. Colors were estimated by visual comparison with a Lovlbond 1000 Instrument, the readings of which were transformed Into Pfund units. As an alternative method, the transmittances of liquid samples at selected wavelengths were measured, trlstlmulus values were calculated, and chromatic coordinates In the CIE-1931 (x,y,L) and CIE-1976 (L*a*b*) color spaces were determined. The correlation coefficient between x and the Pfund grading was 0.958, but visual comparisons proved to be less…

French summaries of product characteristics: content in relation to therapeutic monitoring of psychotropic drugs

2010

The prescription information (summary of product characteristics, SPC) is compiled by the pharmaceutical industry as required by the national regulatory authorities. They vary in their content about the properties of drugs and about the usefulness of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in the blood of patients. Based on a previous study carried out in Germany, the degree of agreement of French SPC for 59 psychotropic drugs with the existing medico-scientific evidence in the area of TDM was examined using a recently developed instrument. A summary score of SPC content (SPCC) related to TDM (SPCC TDM ) has been calculated and compared with the level of recommendation of TDM of the AGNP-TDM expe…

A3- and A2B-fluorocorroles: synthesis, X-ray characterization and antiviral activity evaluation against human cytomegalovirus infection

2020

Twenty-nine fluorinated corroles were prepared, spectroscopically characterized, and studied for their antiviral activity against human cytomegalovirus infection. Six corroles were also fully characterized by X-ray crystallography giving insights on their geometrical features. The halogenated corroles reported herein exhibit significantly improved antiviral activity over their non-halogenated counterparts and over nitro-corrole analogs previously reported. Full activity of thirteen A3-corroles is achieved with four fluorine atoms present on the meso-phenyl ring reaching a selectivity index above 300. The maximum activity is achieved for A2B-corroles with selectivity indexes above 400. We th…

Autoimmune biomarkers in glaucoma patients.

2013

There is growing evidence showing an autoimmune involvement in the pathogenesis of glaucoma, and that alterations in natural occurring autoantibody levels play a key role. The upregulation of autoantibodies can be associated with fatal conditions, but several studies demonstrate that natural autoantibodies entail also protective characteristics and influence the protein expression of neuroretinal cells. A disbalance of natural occurring autoantibodies may shift the physiological equilibrium of protective immunity leading to a predisposition for developing glaucoma. This article highlights recent advances in understanding of autoimmune mechanisms in the pathogenesis of glaucoma.

Synthesis and characterization of a series of alkyl-oxadiazolylpyridinium salts as perspective ionic liquids

2007

The synthesis of a series of 1,2,4-oxadiazolyl-N-methylpyridinium salts differing in the length and the position of the alkyl chain in the heterocyclic ring and the counter ions is reported. Some features of this new family of salts as perspective ionic liquids are described and the influence of the varying moieties in the modulation of the properties is discussed.

Characterization and Decomposition of the Natural van der Waals SnSb2Te4 under Compression

2020

[EN] High pressure X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, and electrical measurements, together with theoretical calculations, which include the analysis of the topological electron density and electronic localization function, evidence the presence of an isostructural phase transition around 2 GPa, a Fermi resonance around 3.5 GPa, and a pressure-induced decomposition of SnSb2Te4 into the high-pressure phases of its parent binary compounds (alpha-Sb2Te3 and SnTe) above 7 GPa. The internal polyhedral compressibility, the behavior of the Raman-active modes, the electrical behavior, and the nature of its different bonds under compression have been discussed and compared with their parent binary…

van der Waals heterostructures based on atomically-thin superconductors

2021

Van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs) allow the assembly of high-crystalline two-dimensional (2D) materials in order to explore dimensionality effects in strongly correlated systems and the emergence of potential new physical scenarios. In this work, it is illustrated the feasibility to integrate 2D materials in-between 2D superconductors. Particularly, it is presented the fabrication and electrical characterization of vertical vdWHs based on air-unstable atomically-thin transition metal dichalcogenides formed by NbSe2/TaS2/NbSe2 stacks, with TaS2 being the insulator 1T-TaS2 or the metal 2H-TaS2. Phase transitions as 1T-TaS2 charge density wave and NbSe2 superconductivity are detected. An …

Structural Characterization and Rationalization of Formation, Stability, and Transformations of Benperidol Solvates

2015

Experimental and theoretical characterization and studies of phase transitions and stability of the solvates obtained in solvate screening of the pharmaceutical compound benperidol were performed to rationalize and understand the solvate formation, stability, and phase transitions occurring during their desolvation. The solvate screening revealed that benperidol can form 11 solvates, including two sets of isostructural solvates. The analysis of the solvate crystal structures and molecular properties indicated that benperidol solvate formation is mainly driven by the complications during packing of benperidol molecules in an energetically efficient way in the absence of solvent molecules, as…
