A Noncommutative Approach to Ordinary Differential Equations

We adapt ideas coming from Quantum Mechanics to develop a non-commutative strategy for the analysis of some systems of ordinary differential equations. We show that the solution of such a system can be described by an unbounded, self-adjoint and densely defined operator H which we call, in analogy with Quantum Mechanics, the Hamiltonian of the system. We discuss the role of H in the analysis of the integrals of motion of the system. Finally, we apply this approach to several examples.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to cross-culturally adapt the Parental-Caregiver Perceptions Questionnaire (P-CPQ) to the Peruvian Spanish language and assess its reliability and validity. Study Design: To translate and cross-cultural adapt the instrument, 60 parents answered the P-CPQ in two pilot tests. The final version of the P-CPQ was evaluated in 200 parents of children aged 11 to 14 years, who were clini - cally examined for dental caries. It is shown how the Bethe Ansatz (BA) analysis for the quantum statistical mechanics of the Nonlinear Schrodinger Model generalises to the other quantum integrable models and to the classical statistical mechanics of the classical integrable models. The bose-fermi equivalence of these models plays a fundamental role even at classical level. Two methods for calculating the quantum or classical free energies are developed: one generalises the BA method the other uses functional integral methods. We assessed the association between exposure to air pollution during pregnancy and anthropometric measures at birth in four areas within the Spanish Children’s Health and Environment (INMA) mother and child cohort study. Objectives To estimate the nationwide prevalence of LTBI in Italian patients with psoriasis who are candidates for systemic treatment. Methods Data were obtained from the Psocare Registry on those patients (n = 4946) with age > 18 years, systemic treatment at entry specified and tuberculin skin test (TST) performed according to the Mantoux method. La présente recherche (qui s'achèvera en 2007-2008) envisage une manière de tester empiriquement la thèse de la reproduction de Bourdieu et Passeron en explorant la perception de la légitimité des inégalités scolaires et de leurs incidences sociales, chez des individus inégalement formés. Elle entend ainsi explorer les relations entre trajectoire scolaire (niveau atteint, mais aussi filière de formation suivie) et intériorisation de la méritocratie et plus largement le jugement sur les inégalités existantes.
