Adherence to an Injury Prevention Warm-Up Program in Children’s Soccer : A Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

2021

This study examined the impact of high adherence to a neuromuscular training (NMT) warm-up on the risk of lower extremity (LE) injuries in children’s soccer. Twenty U11–U14 youth clubs (n = 92 teams, 1409 players) were randomized into intervention (n = 44 teams) and control (n = 48 teams) groups. The intervention group was advised to perform an NMT warm-up 2 to 3 times a week for 20 weeks. Team adherence, injuries, and exposure were registered throughout the follow-up. Primary outcomes were the incidence of soccer-related acute LE injuries and the prevalence of overuse LE injuries. Intervention teams conducted mean 1.7 (SD 1.0) NMT warm-ups weekly through follow-up. The seasonal trend for a…

The necropolis of Ensisheim/Reguisheimerfeld (Haut-Rhin) : illustration of the Late Bronze Age funerary practices in Alsace

2007

In 2000, the preventive excavation of the Ensisheim/Reguisheimerfeld site (Haut-Rhin), carried out by the ANTEA SARL company, brought to light 87 funerary structures belonging to a cremation necropolis dating from the beginning of the Late Bronze Age (around 1350-1050 BC). Following study of the material, 3 successive chronological phases and a possible cultural "faciès" centred on the bend in the Rhine at Basel, Switzerland, were distinguished. The archaeo-anthropological study of the burnt bones revealed, among other things, the existence of a large number of multiple graves and of socially immature members of the society, phenomena rarely observed in the region. The analysis of the inter…

Fysiologiset vasteet liikuntaan lapsilla ja nuorilla

2018

Toisaalta esimerkiksi liikunnan annosvastesuhde maksimaalisen hapenottokyvyn (VO2max) kehittämiseksi eroaa jonkin verran aikuisista. nonPeerReviewed

Objectively measured physical activity, body composition and physical fitness : Cross-sectional associations in 9- to 15-year-old children

2018

The aim of this study was to examine and quantify the cross-sectional associations of body composition (BC), physical activity (PA) and sedentary time (ST) with physical fitness (PF) in children and adolescents. A sample of 594 Finnish students (56% girls), aged 9–15 (12.4 ± 1.3 years) were selected for a study performed in 2013. The measurements of the Move! monitoring system for physical functional capacity were used to measure cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal fitness and fundamental movement skills. Moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) and ST were measured objectively with an accelerometer and BC by a bioelectrical impedance analysis. Fat mass index (FMI) and fat-free mass index (FFMI) we…

Physical fitness characteristics and neck and shoulder pain incidence in school‐aged children—A 2‐year follow‐up

2022

Background and Aims Neck and shoulder pain (NSP) is common in school age, but preventative factors have not been identified. The purpose was to study whether a fitness test could be used to predict the incidence of NSP and determine whether good physical fitness characters would be associated with lower NSP incidence in school-aged children at 2-year follow-up. Methods After the invitation to nine schools, 970 children (10–15 years old) agreed to participate. Flexibility, fundamental movement skills, musculoskeletal fitness, and cardiorespiratory fitness measurements included in Finnish Schools on the Move! monitoring system for physical functional capacity were measured at baseline in 2013…

“What time is it? It’s gender time!” : gender representation in the animated cartoon Adventure Time

2016

Tämä tutkimus keskittyy selvittämään, millaisia esimerkkejä sukupuolirooleista lapsille suunnattu amerikkalainen piirretty Adventure Time välittää. Tutkimusta varten valittiin viisi jaksoa sarjan viidenneltä …

DAL DIRITTO AL FIGLIO AL DIRITTO DEL BAMBINO AD AVERE UNA FAMIGLIA. QUESTIONI DI RESPONSABILITA' EDUCATIVE

2019

The paper has a twofold aim. First, it intends to offer a critical review of some phenomena related to the various claims of “right to a child”. These are phenomena, that are progressively emerging in the so-called “family” realities, in our time of the late modernity, and that, in many respects, seem to be summed up in the possibility of “surrogate motherhood”. If looked at with attention not only empirically, these phenomena can tell us something really significant about the way in which both the reality of the family and, more radically, the reality of the person, are today understood. These phenomena challenge pedagogy as well as philosophy as education to deepen a reflection on meaning…
