Excited State N−H Tautomer Selectivity in the Singlet Energy Transfer of a Zinc(II)-Porphyrin-Truxene-Corrole Assembly

International audience; An original corrole-containing polyad for S-1 energy transfer, in which one zinc(II)-porphyrin donor is linked to two free-base corrole acceptors by a truxene linker, is reported. This polyad exhibits a rapid zinc(II)-porphyrin*free-base corrole transfer (4.83x10(10)s(-1); 298K), even faster than the tautomerization in the excited state processes taking advantage of the good electronic communication provided by the truxene bridge. Importantly, the energy transfer process shows approximately 3-fold selectivity for one corrole N-H tautomer over the other even at low temperature (77K). To overcome this problem, Tangsi Jaya hamlet, West Java, has been provided with 18 kW micro-hydro to supply electricity both to the community and to Small Processing Center for ground coffee production. Results of cash flow analysis for ground coffee in Tangsi Jaya hamlet, with total investment of IDR 110 750 000 and discount rate of 18 % for 5 yr. Upper limits on the isotropic gravitational-wave background from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo's third observing run

We report results of a search for an isotropic gravitational-wave background (GWB) using data from Advanced LIGO's and Advanced Virgo's third observing run (O3) combined with upper limits from the earlier O1 and O2 runs. Unlike in previous observing runs in the advanced detector era, we include Virgo in the search for the GWB. The results are consistent with uncorrelated noise, and therefore we place upper limits on the strength of the GWB. Herein we report the studies of Heck alkynylation (copper-free Sonogashira) with aryl halides (I, Br, Cl) employing various metallic precursors, tertiary phosphanes and bases in [BMIM][BF4] as the solvent. As a result, we provide the first method that allows the coupling of a large array of substrates, either activated or deactivated bromides in an ionic liquid. Furthermore, the system of highest efficiency is unexpectedly the simplest and cheaper combination that employs [Pd(η3-C3H5)Cl]2/PPh3 at only a 1 mol-% loading with pyrrolidine as the base and in the absence of a copper salt. Thermoelectric Radiation Detector Based on Superconductor-Ferromagnet Systems

We suggest an ultrasensitive detector of electromagnetic fields exploiting the giant thermoelectric effect recently found in superconductor-ferromagnet hybrid structures. Compared with other types of superconducting detectors where the detected signal is based on variations of the detector impedance, the thermoelectric detector has the advantage of requiring no external driving fields. This is especially relevant in multipixel detectors, where the number of bias lines and the heating induced by them are an issue. A strong electroweak phase transition from the inflaton field

We study a singlet scalar extension of the Standard Model. The singlet scalar is coupled non-minimally to gravity and assumed to drive inflation, and also couple sufficiently strongly with the SM Higgs field in order to provide for a strong first order electroweak phase transition. Requiring the model to describe inflation successfully, be compatible with the LHC data, and yield a strong first order electroweak phase transition, we identify the regions of the parameter space where the model is viable. Probing the origin of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays with neutrinos in the EeV energy range using the Pierre Auger Observatory

Neutrinos with energies above 1017 eV are detectable with the Surface Detector Array of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The identification is efficiently performed for neutrinos of all flavors interacting in the atmosphere at large zenith angles, as well as for Earth-skimming τ neutrinos with nearly tangential trajectories relative to the Earth. No neutrino candidates were found in ∼ 14.7 years of data taken up to 31 August 2018. This leads to restrictive upper bounds on their flux.
