The aim of the study was to explore futures images of collaborative sustainability enhancement within a cruise ship building network. Addressing collaborative sustainability at the organizational level rather than at the macro (regional or planetary) level, the paper explores socially constructed and shared futures images, which are less widely studied than individual-level images of the future. We advance an analytical model for constructing and evaluating collectively held futures images based on the structure and content of those images. Promoting collaborative interactions in a learning management system

This study aimed at addressing social and technological challenges in a computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) setting. Observations were made in the context of an online Master's degree program. A group of four students supported by online tutors and facilitators participated in the study. Interaction analysis (IA) helped reveal both successful and problematic aspects in the CSCL setting. The role of the online tutors' prompts and pointers was critical in scaffolding effective collaborative interactions among students in a learning management system (LMS). Darbs bija veltīts kolaboratīvai filtrēšanai ieteikumu sistēmās. Tika raksturota kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas metode, apskatīti galvēnie izaicinājumi, piemērām, datu nepietiekamība, mērogojamība u.c.. Sīkāk tika apskatīta uz atmiņu balstītas kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas metodes, uz modeļiem balstītas kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas metodes, hibrīdas kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas metodes un kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas novērtēšanas metrika. Praktiski tika apskatīts datu piemērs ar uz saturu balstītiem ieteikumiem un uz atmiņu balstītam kolaboratīvās filtrēšanas metodēm.

Student voice in learning assessment: a pathway not yet developed at university

During 2009/2010, the current research was conducted with the aim of analysing student and teaching staff on regarding student participation in assessment. A content analysis of 76 subject outlines was carried out, and then 40 member of the teaching staff and 614 university students were surveyed. The results of the content analysis prove there is a shortage of information about and programming for student participation in assessment. This article discusses the applications of the theory of Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) to teaching and learning a foreign language, in this case, one of the ‘Less Commonly Taught Languages’, Finnish. The ‘Virtually Finnish’ project was based on the idea of creating a larger, virtual Finnish learning community among the second-year Finnish language students in five US universities during the fall semester, 2001.
