Collocation Dictionaries: A Comparative Analysis

The importance of phraseological information in lexicographic resources is experiencing an exponential growth. This is evident in the publication in recent years of a wide variety of combinatorial or collocation dictionaries. This paper describes and compares the main monolingual collocation dictionaries for English and Spanish in regards to the following: (i) types of collocation encoded; (ii) kinds of collocational information offered; (iii) place for collocations in the micro or macrostructure of the dictionary. The objective of this analysis is to study the usefulness of these resources for translators.

The Electronic Historical Latvian Dictionary Based on the Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts This article deals with the development of the Electronic Historical Latvian Dictionary (http://www.tezaurs.lv/lvvv) based on the Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts (http://www.korpuss.lv/senie/). Some issues concerning the compilation and processing of the corpus data are discussed and the main sources added to the Corpus during the four-year project are described: the 16th c. In the opinion of many translation scholars, when evaluating the quality of the translation it is essential to distinguish between language errors and translation errors, wherein translational errors should have a decisive impact on the assessment of the translation. The article shows that the mentioned dichotomy has by no means a strict character, but rather there are smooth boundaries and differences in the perception of what translational errors are. Jak wiadomo, język niemiecki jest językiem pluricentrycznym z narodowymi odmianami/centrami, który w obrębie języka prawa różni się także ze względu na obowiązujące w różnych krajach niemieckojęzycznych różne systemy prawa. Austriacki kodeks cywilny (ABGB), uchwalony w roku 1811, jest prawie o cały wiek starszy od swego odpowiednika w RFN (BGB), który wszedł w życie w roku 1900. Ów dystans czasowy pociąga za sobą także różnice w zakresie języka obu kodeksów. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie cech wspólnych i różnic w obrębie kolokacji w niemieckim i austriackim kodeksie cywilnym, które dotąd prawie całkowicie pozostawały poza obszarem badań.
Lietvārdu kolokāciju variācijas EUR-Lex korpusa tekstos

Angļu valoda arī šobrīd ir nozīmīga ES institūciju darba valoda, kurā parādās pat dažas unikālas “eiro-angļu valodas” iezīmes. Šajā pētījumā aplūkotas dažas vārdu kopas, kas tai raksturīgas, nosakot Eur-LEX angļu valodas korpusa biežākās lietvārdu kolokācijas. Izmantotās metodes bija salīdzinošā literatūras avotu analīze, kā arī vairāki kvantitatīvi un kvalitatīvi korpusanalīzes paņēmieni. Rezultāti parādīja, ka dažas no šīm lietvārdu kolokācijām veido ES terminoloģiju, kamēr citas iespējams sadalīt tuvu sinonīmu grupās pēc semantiskās nozīmes. Po odzyskaniu niepodległości na terenie nowego państwa polskiego obowiązywało pięć różnych systemów prawa cywilnego. Problemem był jednak nie tylko brak jednolitego prawa, lecz także jednolitego języka. Poszczególne dzielnice utrzymywały, że zachowała się u nich najdoskonalsza odmiana polszczyzny. W artykule analizie poddane zostały tłumaczenia kolokacji w urzędowych przekładach niemieckiego prawa rodzinnego, obowiązującego na zachodzie II Rzeczypospolitej celem zbadania, czy miały one wpływ na język współczesny. Dla porównania przeanalizowano także inne systemy prawa rodzinnego obowiązujące w Polsce okresu międzywojennego.

Šajā darbā uzmanība tiek veltīta galvenokārt Humanitāro zinātņu fakultātes Lietišķās valodniecības centra (LVC) apakšvietnes satura analīzei. Darba mērķis ir noteikt LVC mājaslapas semantiskos kodolus un pārbaudīt vietnes atslēgvārdu un atslēgu vārdkopu saderību Google meklētājprogrammā. Analīze tika veikta ar moderno Google rīku palīdzību un manuāli atpazīstot pašreizējos atslēgvārdus un atslēgu vārdkopas tīmekļa vietnes lapās. Šis pētījums uzsver semantiskā kodola sagatavošanas nozīmi pirms mājaslapas izstrādāšanas, kā arī to, kā ik pa laikam var pārbaudīt atslēgvārdu un atslēgu vārdkopu saderību (Google atpazīšanu).
