A New Layered Compound Containing [PMo12O40]3- and Both 5- and 6-Coordinated Homoleptic (1-(2-Chloroethyl)tetrazole)Copper(II) Cations

The synthesis, crystal structure and physical properties of the complex obtained from the reaction between the polyoxometalate anion [PMo12O40]3- copper(II) and the ligand 1-(2-chloroethyl)tetrazole (teec) are described. This compound has been synthesized as a model for designing materials containing both magnetic polyoxometalate anions and iron(II) spin-crossover cations. Keywords. Poly[2-(1-naphthyl)-1,3-dioxan-4,6-diylmethylene] (3), poly[2-(2-naphthyl)-1,3-dioxan-4,6-diylmethylene] (5), 1-naphthalenecarbaldehydetrimethyleneacetal (7) and 2-naphthalenecarbaldehydetrimethyleneacetal (8) were synthesized and characterized by UV- and fluorescencespectroscopy. <strong>Synthesis and Platinum (II) Complexes of Different Polyazacyclophane Receptors</strong>

During the last years, research on coordination chemistry of platinum has aroused great interest due to their potential biological applications. Herein, we report the interaction of PtCI42- with different polyazacyclophanes containing a pyridine unit as aromatic spacer. Formation of complexes has been studied by 1H and 195Pt NMR spectroscopy. Analysis of the recorded spectra of D2O solutions containing L and PtCl42- in a 1:1 molar ratio at acidic pH shows the evolution with time of the 1H and 195Pt signals. Stratification in Drying Polymer–Polymer and Colloid–Polymer Mixtures

Drying polymer-polymer and colloid-polymer mixtures were studied using Langevin dynamics computer simulations. Polymer-polymer mixtures vertically stratified into layers, with the shorter polymers enriched near the drying interface and the longer polymers pushed down toward the substrate. Colloid-polymer mixtures stratified into a polymer-on-top structure when the polymer radius of gyration was comparable to or smaller than the colloid diameter, and a colloid-on-top structure otherwise.
