Neogeographic technologies as a tool for reducing the disaster risk: a testimonies’ map during the 2020 lockdown in Italy

This paper illustrates a geographical and multidisciplinary research titled "My lived space" and conducted in Italy, during the lockdown period due to the pandemic of Covid-19. The research aimed at using geospatial platforms to collect and map discursive, visual and oral testimonies, stories and narratives of individuals. It means, exploring the various testimonies of people related to quarantine, physical distancing, resistances and experiences, and practices that occur in the daily spaces of their homes and in local communities.

The research deepens the role of new technologies in the construction of geographical imaginaries investigating the dimension of the offer related to the cultural heritage of the city of Palermo. The study was conducted using qualitative methods and provided for the application of two research techniques: participant observation and semi-structured interviews. By interpreting the results produced, the contribution aims to highlight the predominance of an urban image, linked to the UNESCO inclusion of the site in the World Heritage List, which is conveyed through new technologies. Abstract Background Frailty is a state of increased vulnerability to stressors, associated to poor health outcomes. The aim of this study was to design and introduce a Frailty Index (FI; according to the age-related accumulation of deficit model) in a large cohort of hospitalized older persons, in order to benefit from its capacity to comprehensively weight the risk profile of the individual. Population aging is the demographic phenomenon characterizing all countries in the world, and it is challenging the national infrastructures, in particular health systems. However, aging itself is not associated with increased medical spending, but disability and comorbidity that affect older individuals are the actual drivers for health expenditures. The arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis, which appeared at the same time as land plants, 460 million years ago, is a mutualistic beneficial association between most land plants, including those cultivated, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). AMF, from the Glomeromycota phylum, are widespread soil microorganisms needing a photosynthetic host to complete their life cycle (obligate symbionts). Una ma non unica motivazione è il ricordo delle questue infantili tradizionali che in passato scandivano i calendari cerimoniali di numerosi centri della penisola.
