Small architectures can help to reinstate a daily use of the archaeological park, no longer considered as a specialised fence. The projects feed on iconographic memories that indicate where and how to look at. The comparison between the historical views and the current state shows some changes. Today the contemporary city surrounds the temples, arising among billboards, behind traffic lights. Unlike the postcards' logic where the ruins appear isolated, in the wake of a generic polemic against the recent transformations, the article aims to focus on a new aesthetic where contemporary architecture narrates a dialogue between different parts, offering new paths of approach to the ruins.

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts divu vienā gadā izdotu (1924) G. Flobēra romāna “Salambo” tulkojumu latviešu valodā analīzei. Romānu tulkojuši ievērojami latviešu rakstnieki – E. Virza un A. Upīts. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā tulkotāja personība ietekmē daiļdarba tulkojumu. Tas izdarīts, veicot tulkojumu un oriģināla salīdzinošo analīzi. Ciešamās kārtas lietojums laikrakstu rakstos

Pētījumi par laikrakstiem un ciešamo kārtu ir tikuši veikti, taču ne plaši. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis bija analizēt ciešamās kārtas lietojumu laikrakstu rakstos, kurus publicējuši lielākie britu tiešsaistes laikraksti – Daily Mail, The Sun, Evening Standard un Metro. Lai pētītu ciešamās kārtas lietojumu izvēlētajos laikrakstos, ir veikts literatūras pārskats, satura analīze, un saskaitīts sastopamības biežums. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka ciešamā kārta visbiežāk tika lietota The Sun un Daily Mail laikrakstos; tika atrasti astoņi ciešamās kārtas laiki, no kuriem visbiežāk tika lietoti vienkāršās pagātnes un vienkāršās tagadnes laiki. The purpose of this paper is to re-examine the nature of "meaning" and "meaningfulness" in the context of instrumental music education. By doing so, I propose to expand the ways in which instrumental music educators conceive their mission and the ways in which we may instill meaning in people's lives. Traditionally, pursuits of philosophical deliberation have claimed that meaningfulness comes from either personal happiness (e.g., Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill) or an impersonal sense of duty (e.g., St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Immanuel Kant). Real-life patient journey in neovascular age-related macular degeneration: a narrative medicine analysis in the Italian setting

Objectives To investigate the real-life experience of patients affected by neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), in the healthcare pathway for the management of the disease, using a "patient journey" and narrative method approach. Methods The patient journey of subjects affected by nAMD was designed using a process-mapping methodology involving a team from 11 Italian centres. Subsequently, narratives were collected from nAMD patients and family members. The interviews were analyzed using the narrative medicine methodology. Prevalence and Antimicrobial Resistance of Escherichia coli, Enterococcus spp. and the Major Foodborne Pathogens in Calves in Latvia

The aim of the present study was to detect the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of fecal indicators and major foodborne pathogens in feces of calves and to identify the factors associated with increased prevalence of resistant bacteria on farms. Altogether, 180 rectal swabs were collected from 18 farms in Latvia. Samples were investigated to detect the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of Escherichia coli, Enterococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, and Campylobacter spp. Among all, 64% (74/110) of commensal E. coli, 100% (78/78) Enterococcus faecalis and 96% (22/23) Enterococcus faecium isolates were resistant at …
