Tehnoloģijas mainās un atjaunojas tik strauji, ka pieprasījums pēc kvalitatīvākiem un plašākiem ainavu reljefiem nekad nezūd. Manuāla zīmēšana būtu milzīga laiks un naudas patēriņš. Jau 20.gs. 80. gados, speciālisti izveidojuši reljefa ģenerēšanas algoritmus, kuru uzdevums ir apvidus atveidošana pēc iespējas tuvāk dabā esošajiem reljefa paraugiem. Mūsdienās pastāv jau vairākas reljefa ģenerēšanas programmas, tomēr tās ir dārgas un izvirza augstas prasības datora veiktspējai. Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes provide an unusually wide electrochemical window in protic media, since there exist large offset potentials for the evolution of molecular hydrogen and oxygen, respectively. At the anode, alcohols are specifically converted to alkoxyl radicals. These can be used for chemical synthesis. When the enormous reactivity of such intermediate spin centers is not controlled, mineralization or electrochemical incineration dominates. Efficient strategies include either high substrate concentrations or fluorinated alcohols which seem to stabilize the spin centers in the course of reaction.

ABSTRACT The toxic fragment of Bacillus thuringiensis crystal proteins consists of three distinct structural domains. There is evidence that domain I is involved in pore formation and that domain II is involved in receptor binding and specificity. It has been found that, in some cases, domain III is also important in determining specificity. Furthermore, involvement of domain III in binding has also been reported recently. Melting of tantalum at high pressure determined by angle dispersive x-ray diffraction in a double-sided laser-heated diamond-anvil cell

The high pressure and high temperature phase diagram of Ta has been studied in a laser-heated diamond-anvil cell (DAC) using x-ray diffraction measurements up to 52 GPa and 3800 K. The melting was observed at nine different pressures, being the melting temperature in good agreement with previous laser-heated DAC experiments, but in contradiction with several theoretical calculations and previous piston-cylinder apparatus experiments. A small slope for the melting curve of Ta is estimated (dTm/dP = 24 K/GPa at 1 bar) and a possible explanation for this behaviour is given. AbstractThe high-pressure and high-temperature structural and chemical stability of ruthenium has been investigated via synchrotron X-ray diffraction using a resistively heated diamond anvil cell. In the present experiment, ruthenium remains stable in the hcp phase up to 150 GPa and 960 K. The thermal equation of state has been determined based upon the data collected following four different isotherms. A quasi-hydrostatic equation of state at ambient temperature has also been characterized up to 150 GPa. The composition of Earth's core has first-order implications for understanding the thermal and chemical history of the deep Earth. The present work measures the pressure-volume equation of state of Fe5Si3 to 96 GPa in a diamond anvil cell using noble gas pressure media and demonstrates that Fe5Si3 is not stable at high temperature and pressure, but reappears during thermal quench. The isothermal equation of state at ambient temperature of Fe5Si3 is given by the bulk modulus KT,0 = 167 (8) and KT,0' = 5.1 (2)), with V0 = 56.29 cm3mol-1. Pressure-induced transition in titanium metal: a systematic study of the effects of uniaxial stress

Abstract The effects of uniaxial stress on the pressure-induced α → ω transition in pure titanium (Ti) are investigated by means of angle dispersive X-ray diffraction in a diamond-anvil cell. Experiments under four different pressure environments reveal that: (1) the onset of the transition depends on the pressure medium used, going from 4.9 GPa (no pressure medium) to 10.5 GPa (argon pressure medium); (2) the α and ω phases coexist over a rather large pressure range, which depends on the pressure medium employed; (3) the hysteresis and quenchability of the ω phase is affected by differences in the sample pressure environment; and (4) a short-term laser heating of Ti lowers the α → ω transi…
High-pressure/high-temperature phase diagram of zinc

The phase diagram of zinc (Zn) has been explored up to 140 GPa and 6000K, by combining optical observations, x-ray diffraction, and ab initio calculations. In the pressure range covered by this study, Zn is found to retain a hexagonal close-packed (hcp) crystal symmetry up to the melting temperature. The known decrease of the axial ratio (c/a) of the hcp phase of Zn under compression is observed in x-ray diffraction experiments from 300K up to the melting temperature. The pressure at which c/a reaches root 3 (approximate to 10GPa) is slightly affected by temperature. In situ analysis of garnet inclusion in diamond using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and X-ray micro-tomography

A single crystal of garnet enclosed in a diamond from the Jericho kimberlite (Slave Craton, Canada) has been investigated using X-ray diffraction and X-ray micro-tomography. The novel experimental approach allowed us to determine the crystal structure of the garnet. The unit-cell edge a and fractional atomic coordinates of oxygen were used to determine the composition via an updated Margules model for garnets. The composition is Pyr(0.41(5))Alm(0.36(7))Gro(0.22(1))Uva(0.01(1)), which is indistinguishable from the eclogitic garnets found in other Jericho diamonds.
