Wireless ATM : handover issues

Basic aspects of cellular systems and the ATM transmission technology are introduced. Wireless ATM is presented as a combination of radio ATM and mobile ATM. Radio ATM is a wireless extension of an ATM connection while mobile ATM contains the necessary extensions to ATM to support mobility. Because the current ATM technology does not support mobility, handover becomes one of the most important research issues for wireless ATM. Wireless ATM handover requirements are thus analysed. Mūsdienu leksikogrāfijā liela nozīme tiek piešķirta dažādiem korpusa izmantošanas paņēmieniem. Korpuss atklāj raksturīgākās valodas iezīmes un sniedz informāciju par noteiktu vārdu un frāžu leksiskajām pazīmēm. Bakalaura darbā pētīta korpusa datu izmantošana Longman, Oxford un Macmillan mācību vārdnīcās angļu valodā. Salīdzinošā analīze tika pielietota, lai salīdzinātu korpusa datu izmantošanu izvēlētajās vārdnīcās. Pētījuma rezultāti norādīja, ka korpusa datu izmantošana izvēlētajās vārdnīcās atšķiras diezgan pamanāmi, papildus tam rezultāti pierādīja, ka korpuss ir neaizstājama mūsdienu leksikogrāfijas sastāvdaļa. Measurements of the top quark branching ratios into channels with leptons and quarks with the ATLAS detector

Measurements of the branching ratios of top quark decays into leptons and jets using events with t[bar over t] (top antitop) pairs are reported. Events were recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The collected data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb[superscript −1]. The measured top quark branching ratios agree with the Standard Model predictions within the measurement uncertainties of a few percent.

The image of the monolingual dictionary across Europe. Results of the European Survey of Dictionary use and Culture

The article presents the results of a survey on dictionary use in Europe, focusing on general monolingual dictionaries. The survey is the broadest survey of dictionary use to date, covering close to 10,000 dictionary users (and non-users) in nearly thirty countries. Our survey covers varied user groups, going beyond the students and translators who have tended to dominate such studies thus far. The survey was delivered via an online survey platform, in language versions specific to each target country. It was completed by 9,562 respondents, over 300 respondents per country on average.
