From over-stoichiometric to sub-stoichiometric enantioselective protonation with 2-sulfinyl alcohols: A view in perspective

2005

A general study of the enantioselective protonation of prochiral enolates with 2-sulfinyl alcohols is reported. The modification of reaction conditions to reduce drastically the amount of chiral proton source needed to obtain a good enantiomeric excess is reported. The effects of the different factors controlling the stereoselectivity are clearly established. Different protocols for enolate generation are compared. Polypropylene and poly(ethylene-co-1-octene) effective synthesis with diamine-bis(phenolate) complexes: Effect of complex structure on catalyst activ…

2017

A series of group 4 metal complexes bearing amine-bis(phenolate) ligands with the amino side-arm donor: (μ-O)[Me2N(CH2)2N(CH2-2-O-3,5-tBu2-C6H2)2ZrCl]2 (1a), R2N(CH2)2N(CH2-2-O-3-R1-5-R2-C6H2)2TiCl2 (R = Me, R1, R2 = tBu (2a), R = iPr, R1, R2 = tBu (2b), R = iPr, R1 = tBu, R2 = OMe (2c)), and Me2N(CH2)2N(CH2-2-O-3,5-tBu2-C6H2)(CH2-2-O-C6H4)TiCl2 (2d) are used in ethylene and propylene homopolymerization, and ethylene/1-octene copolymerization. All complexes, upon their activation with Al(iBu)3/Ph3CB(C6F5)4, exhibit reasonable catalytic activity for ethylene homo- and copolymerization giving linear polyethylene with high to ultra-high molecular weight (600·× 103–3600·× 103 g/mol). The activi…

Dichlorovanadium(IV) diamine-bis(phenolate) complexes for ethylene (co)polymerization and 1-olefin isospecific polymerization

2018

Abstract Two vanadium complexes bearing amine-bis(phenolate) ligands with the amino side-arm donor, [V{Me2NCH2CH2N(CH2-2-O-3,5-tBu2-C6H2)2}Cl2] (1) and [V{Me2NCH2CH2N(CH2-2-O-3,5-tBu2-C6H2)(CH2-2-O-C6H4)}Cl2] (2), were synthesised and characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Upon activation with Al(iBu)3/Ph3CB(C6F5)4, these complexes became active catalysts for 1-octene polymerization giving highly stereoregular polymers (mmmm ∼ 90%) having regioirregularly arranged units. The catalytic activity of the catalysts in ethylene homo- and copolymerization, and their ability to incorporate a comonomer were highly dependent on both the activator type and the complex structure. 1/EtAlCl2 exhi…

Everolimus With Reduced Tacrolimus Improves Renal Function in De Novo Liver Transplant Recipients: A Randomized Controlled Trial

2012

In a prospective, multicenter, open-label study, de novo liver transplant patients were randomized at day 30±5 to (i) everolimus initiation with tacrolimus elimination (TAC Elimination) (ii) everolimus initiation with reduced-exposure tacrolimus (EVR+Reduced TAC) or (iii) standard-exposure tacrolimus (TAC Control). Randomization to TAC Elimination was terminated prematurely due to a higher rate of treated biopsy-proven acute rejection (tBPAR). EVR+Reduced TAC was noninferior to TAC Control for the primary efficacy endpoint (tBPAR, graft loss or death at 12 months posttransplantation): 6.7% versus 9.7% (-3.0%; 95% CI -8.7, 2.6%; p<0.001 for noninferiority [12% margin]). tBPAR occurred in…

Effectiveness of cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil in a child with refractory evans syndrome

2011

Evans Syndrome is a rare autoimmune disease consisting of hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and/or neutropenia. It may be associated with other autoimmune or lymphoproliferative diseases. Its course can be extremely serious and, rarely, even life-threatening

Chemistry of detrifluoroacetylativelyin situgenerated fluoro-enolates

2018

This review article comprehensively profiles all literature reports (2015-2018) related to the detrifluoroacetylative in situ generation of fluorine-containing enolates and their reactions with electrophilic reagents. The innovative facets of this unconventional methodology and its synthetic generality for the preparation of fluorine-containing compounds of high medicinal value are highlighted.

Ex vivo T-cell depletion vs post-transplant cyclophosphamide, sirolimus, and mycophenolate mofetil as graft-vs-host disease prophylaxis for allogenei…

2021

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of CD34+ selected ex vivo T-cell depletion (TCD) vs post-transplant cyclophosphamide, sirolimus, and mycophenolate mofetil (PTCy-Sir-MMF) as graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis. Methods We retrospectively included patients who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) with either TCD (n = 38) or PTCy-Sir-MMF (n = 91). Results Cumulative incidence of neutrophil and platelet recovery was 92% vs 99% (P = .06) and 89% vs 97% (P = .3) in TCD and PTCy-Sir-MMF, respectively. Cumulative incidences of aGHVD grade II-IV, III-IV, and moderate to severe cGVHD were 11% vs 19% (P = .2), 3% vs 2% (P = .9), and 3% vs 36% (P < …

Ag44(SeR)30: A Hollow Cage Silver Cluster with Selenolate Protection.

2015

Selenolate protected, stable and atomically precise, hollow silver cluster was synthesized using solid state as well as solution state routes. The optical absorption spectrum shows multiple and sharp features similar to the thiolated Ag44 cluster, Ag44(SR)30 whose experimental structure was reported recently. High-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HRESI MS) shows well-defined molecular ion features with two, three, and four ions with isotopic resolution, due to Ag44(SePh) 30. Additional characterization with diverse tools confirmed the composition. The closed-shell 18 electron superatom electronic structure, analogous to Ag44(SR)30 stabilizes the dodecahedral cage with a…

Treatment of pemphigus vulgaris with mycophenolate mofetil

1997

different pattern of diffusion changes in a 51-year-old woman with chronic epilepsy and recurrent episodes of focal status epilepticus, for whom no aetiology could be established. Status consisted of clonic jerking of the right leg, which continued for 22 days and was followed by transient paresis. DWI during status showed decreased diffusion in the motor cortex of the right leg (relative decrease in ADC of 27%, see figure). Surprisingly, the diffusion was increased in the subcortical white matter (relative increase in ADC of 31%). On the T2-weighted image (not shown), both cortex and subcortical white matter of the corresponding region returned a high signal similar to previously reported …
