Abstract Objectives To investigate the associations for one-year changes in cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and body mass index, with psychological difficulties status in adolescents. Methods Norwegian 14-15-year-olds (n = 925) participated in data collection at two time points separated by one year. Psychological difficulties were assessed via the Strengths and Difficulties questionnaire and data from follow-up serve as the dependent variable. Abstract: The reporting of infection/sepsis in chemo/radiation-treated head and neck cancer patients is sparse and the problem is underestimated. A multidisciplinary group of head and neck cancer specialists from Italy met with the aim of reaching a consensus on a clinical definition and management of infections and sepsis. Tetrapeptide p-nitroanilides containing (E)-dehydrophenylalanine were synthesized and evaluated as inhibitors and substrates of cathepsin C. Peptides containing a free, unblocked amino group appeared to be quite good substrates of the enzyme, whereas fully protected peptides acted as very weak inhibitors. Structural studies by means of NMR and CD, alongside with molecular modelling, have proved that these peptides are hydrolysed in one step by direct removal of p-nitroaniline from the tetrapeptide.
