Gramatikas kļūdu analīze 12. klases angļu valodas eksāmena rakstiskajā daļā
2016
Angļu valodas centralizētais eksāmens 12. klasei sastāv no atsevišķām sadaļām katras valodas prasmes pārbaudei, bet rakstīšanas daļa sevī ietver vairāku prasmju pārbaudi.
Misclassification of subjects with insulin resistance and associated cardiovascular risk factors by homeostasis model assessment index. Utility of a …
2009
Different methods are available for assessing insulin sensitivity in the fasting state. However, insulin resistance (IR) is initially a postprandial disturbance; and usually, when basal (fasting) disturbance appears, the process has been in progress for some time. Our aim was to investigate if a postprandial measurement, performing an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), is more sensitive than fasting values. We wished to identify early IR states in healthy, nonobese individuals and ascertain if this situation was associated with other cardiovascular risk factors. A total of 90 nonobese, nondiabetic, and nonsmoker individuals were studied. They were divided into 3 groups according to IR stat…
Analysis of the sensitivity to the systematic error in least-squares regression models
2004
An algorithm that calculates the sensitivity to the systematic error of the fitted parameters of a least-squares regression model, with respect to the known parameters, is developed. The algorithm can be applied to mechanistic and empirical models, obtained by linear and non-linear regression, including principal component and partial least-squares. It can be useful in identifying those parameters or calibration regions that can influence other parameters and the response mostly, and thus, whose accuracy should be particularly procured. Other applications are the weighing of experimental points and the comparison of different models and regression methods in terms of its ability of amplifyi…
Analysis of 415 adverse events in dental practice in Spain from 2000 to 2010
2013
Introduction: The effort to increase patient safety has become one of the main focal points of all health care profes - sions, despite the fact that, in the field of dentistry, initiatives have come late and been less ambitious. The main objective of patient safety is to avoid preventable adverse events to the greatest extent possible and to limit the negative consequences of those which are unpreventable. Therefore, it is essential to ascertain what adverse events occur in each dental care activity in order to study them in-depth and propose measures for prevention. Objectives: To ascertain the characteristics of the adverse events which originate from dental care, to classify them in acco…

This chapter provides a description of the weighting and imputation strategies used to address problems of unit nonresponse, sample attrition and item nonresponse in the seventh wave of SHARE.
Effectiveness of tDCS at Improving Recognition and Reducing False Memories in Older Adults
2021
Background: False memories tend to increase in healthy and pathological aging, and their reduction could be useful in improving cognitive functioning. The objective of this study was to use an active–placebo method to verify whether the application of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) improved true recognition and reduced false memories in healthy older people. Method: Participants were 29 healthy older adults (65–78 years old) that were assigned to either an active or a placebo group
Dynamic accommodation without feedback does not respond to isolated blur cues
2016
Highlights • A new methodology is used to study a potential cue for dynamic accommodation. • We show that human accommodation is not driven correctly by defocus alone. • Accommodation is most efficient using changes in stimulus vergence with feedback.
A Unified Approach to Measuring Accuracy of Error Indicators
2014
In this paper, we present a unified approach to error indication for elliptic boundary value problems. We introduce two different definitions of the accuracy (weak and strong) and show that various indicators result from one principal relation. In particular, this relation generates all the main types of error indicators, which have already gained high popularity in numerical practice. Also, we discuss some new forms of indicators that follow from a posteriori error majorants of the functional type and compare them with other indicators. Finally, we discuss another question related to accuracy of error indicators for problems with incompletely known data.
