A dual channel sulphur-containing a macrocycle functionalised BODIPY probe for the detection of Hg(II) in a mixed aqueous solution

2018

We report herein the synthesis and chromo-fluorogenic behaviour of a new probe 1 containing a boron-dipirromethene (BODIPY) unit electronically connected with a dithia-dioxa-aza macrocycle. Acetonitrile and water-acetonitrile 95:5 v/v solutions of the probe showed an ICT band in the visible zone and are nearly non-emissive. When acetonitrile was used as solvent, addition of Hg(II) and trivalent metal cations induced an hypsochromic shift of the absorption band and moderate emission enhancements. A highly selective response was obtained when using competitive media such as wateracetonitrile 95:5 v/v. In this case only Hg(II) induced a hypsochromic shift of the absorption band and a marked em…

Synthesis, Structural Analysis, Fiber Formation and Preliminary Anticancer Characterization of the Organotin Polyether from Dibutyltin Dichloride and…

2012

The organotin polyether derived from reaction of dibutyltin dichloride and 2,5-dimethyl-3-hexyne-2,5-diol was rapidly synthesized employing classical interfacial polymerization in 65% yield and a chain length of 360 units. IR results are consistent with the polyether structure. Bands characteristic of the formation of the Sn-O are present and bands characteristic of the Sn-Cl are absent. F MALDI MS results in the low mass range gives ion fragment clusters to five units. Isotopic abundance matches for tin are consistent with its presence in these ion fragment clusters. In the high mass range ion fragment clusters to greater than 300 units are found. The products offer outstanding inhibition …

Ricerche in tema di società questuarie

2019

About the regulations of the societas quaestus - referable to the societas universorum quae ex quaestu veniunt and to the societas unius alicuius negotiationis and unius rei - the interpretative efforts of the Roman jurists were given profusely since the end of the republican age. The scientific monograph puts itself on the traces of identifying the notion of quaestus (gain) with particular reference to the inclusion within it of the so-called remuneration gifts. Furthermore it reconstructs the jurisprudential debate that aroses around the question of whether the socii - in the determination of the shares - had to respect a proportion with the contributions and in this sense with an attempt to explain the existing contrast between a passage from the Digest and one of the Iustiniani Institutiones. Moreover always with specific reference to the societas quaestus the monograph investigates the setting-up of the intempestiva renuntiatio supporting its origin out of the contrast between Proculiani and Sabiniani so far postulated in doctrine. Finally the book closes with a chapter dedicated to the genesis of the term egestas which appears in a fragment of Modestinus (D. 17.2.4.1) dedicated to the causes of dissolution of the societas consensu contractaSettore IUS/18 - Diritto Romano E Diritti Dell'Antichita'

Isocratic and gradient elution in micellar liquid chromatography with Brij-35

2015

Polyoxyethylene(23)lauryl ether (known as Brij-35) is a nonionic surfactant, which has been considered as an alternative to the extensively used in micellar liquid chromatography anionic surfactant sodium lauryl (dodecyl) sulfate, for the analysis of drugs and other types of compounds. Brij-35 is the most suitable nonionic surfactant for micellar liquid chromatography, owing to its commercial availability, low cost, low toxicity, high cloud temperature, and low background absorbance. However, it has had minor use. In this work, we gather and discuss some results obtained in our laboratory with several β-blockers, sulfonamides, and flavonoids, concerning the use of Brij-35 as mobile phase mo…

Conformational Properties of Nickel(II) Octaethylporphyrin in Solution. 2. A Low-Temperature Optical Absorption Spectroscopy Study

1996

We have measured the absorption spectrum of Ni(II) octaethylporphyrin in CH2Cl2 and in a 50% v/v isopentane/ethyl ether mixture as a function of temperature between 150 and 300 K and 40 and 300 K, respectively. The Soret band can be decomposed into two subbands whose frequencies differ by 220 cm-1. By analogy with resonance Raman results (Jentzen et al. J. Phys. Chem. 1996, 100, 14184−14191 (preceding paper)), we attribute the low-frequency subband to a conformer with a nonplanar macrocycle structure, whereas the high-frequency subband is interpreted as resulting from a planar conformer. The subbands' intensity ratios exhibit a solvent-dependent van't Hoff behavior between 300 and 160 K. Cr…

Fluorimetric determination of amphetamine in urine by flow injection with on-line liquid–liquid extraction

2001

Abstract Determination of amphetamine in urine was performed by batch and flow injection methodologies. The suitable experimental conditions for fluorimetric measurements were established. The liquid–liquid extraction was carried out at pH 13 using diethyl ether as extracting reagent. The measurement conditions were 260 nm and 277 nm for excitation and emission wavelengths, respectively. The method requires standard addition calibration and Youden blank correction. The influence of the main metabolites of amphetamine and metamphetamine were studied. The accuracy and precision of the proposed method was tested and the method is adapted to the flow injection procedure with on-line extraction.

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibria for the binary systems 1-propyl alcohol+dipropyl ether and 1-butyl alcohol+dibutyl ether at 20 and 101.3kPa

2006

Abstract Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium measurements for the binary systems 1-propyl alcohol + dipropyl ether and 1-butyl alcohol + dibutyl ether are reported at 20 and 101.3 kPa. Both systems, which deviate positively from ideal behavior present a minimum boiling point azeotrope at both pressures, showing the azeotropic compositions a strong dependency on pressure. The activity coefficients and boiling points of the solutions were correlated with its composition by the Wilson, UNIQUAC, NRTL, and Wisniak–Tamir equations.

Effect of pressure and the capability of 2-methoxyethanol as a solvent in the behaviour of a diisopropyl ether–isopropyl alcohol azeotropic mixture

2007

Abstract Consistent vapour–liquid equilibrium data for the binary and ternary systems of diisopropyl ether + isopropyl alcohol at 30 and 101.3 kPa and diisopropyl ether + 2-methoxyethanol, isopropyl alcohol + 2-methoxyethanol and diisopropyl ether + isopropyl alcohol + 2-methoxyethanol at 101.3 kPa are reported. The activity coefficients of the solutions were correlated with its composition using the Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC models. It is shown that the models allow a very good prediction of the phase equilibrium of the ternary system using the pertinent parameters of the binary systems. Moreover, the effect of pressure and the entrainer capability of 2-methoxyethanol were studied.
