Tadeusz Różewicz po niemiecku. Świadectwa lektury
2019
The title of the study covers both instances of Tadeusz Różewicz’s literary output, which are present within the circle of the German language (the art of translation) and the forms of the presences of the German literature and culture in the author’s own texts, metatexts, self-commentaries. Still, the poet’s dialogical word, as contextual and inter-textual networking (“knots in the net”) which creates an open space for the literary-cultural discourses (the following are present here, among others: Goethe, Holderlin, Celan, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Heidegger), becomes a superior value that permeates the character of the “textual world” active here. At the same time, a look at translation as…

Today’s rapidly changing economic and social environment requires reconsideration of leadership issues, a special attention paying to ethical issues that are an integral part of socially responsible business. Expressing Professional Identity through Blogging - A Case Study of Blogging in the Study of the Subject of Norwegian in Pre-School Teacher Education
2015
Abstract This article shows how blogging was used in a course in Norwegian in pre-school teacher education, and investigates how professional identity was expressed in the blogs. We investigate the students’ use of the affordances of the blog medium, and connect their expressions to the five competencies of pre-school teachers expressed in the Norwegian framework plan for this education (subject, didactic, social, developmental and ethical competence). Connections between professional identity, subject content and uses of ICT are thus drawn up.
Per una ricostruzione del concetto di bioetica
2020
By means of a critical investigation of the concept of bioethics starting from Potter’s work, the present essay intends to highlight aporias and paradoxes in the dominant construction in the literature of the sector. The line of argumentation aims to point out that the current concept of bioethics is not able to meet the regulatory expectations that have arisen around it. In the pars construens of the essay I will try to trace the way for a reconstruction of the concept of bioethics, bringing it closer to the origins of Fritz Jahr’s speculation and to the traditional notion of ethics, intended as a reflective science rather than a pragmatic discipline.
Ethical Challenges of Hybrid Editors
2016
In times of turbulence in the media industry, media organizations are looking for new business models. Digitalization has led traditional news media organizations to testing new forms of advertisement, such as sponsored content and native advertising, whereas others, such as lifestyle magazines, have a longer history in collaborating with brands. Editors are key players in these developments, since they are journalist–managers and decision makers within those daily practices that shape policies and influence new product innovation and development. In this study, we examine from the editors’ point of view, how they see the process of adopting novel forms of advertisement and what ethical cha…

Research ethics in planning: a framework for discussion
2008
This article discusses research into planning, and specifically how we might best frame the ethical issues which arise in, and through, such research. One of its central contentions is that ethical sensitivity is developed by researchers as part of a social practice, that is, through communal activity of a particular kind. Therefore, important as it is to ensure that researchers are aware of their personal ethical responsibilities, understanding what the moral point of view requires — that is, being sensitive to ethical issues, especially in new circumstances — is something which researchers acquire through involvement in appropriately conducted social practices. The article's suggestion i…
2016
The goal of this article is to present a first list of ethical concerns that may arise from research and personal use of virtual reality (VR) and related technology, and to offer concrete recommendations for minimizing those risks. Many of the recommendations call for focused research initiatives. In the first part of the article, we discuss the relevant evidence from psychology that motivates our concerns. In section 1.1, we cover some of the main results suggesting that one’s environment can influence one’s psychological states, as well as recent work on inducing illusions of embodiment. Then, in section 1.2, we go on to discuss recent evidence indicating that immersion in VR can have psy…

2002
This article, based on an exploratory study of old Finnish family firms, examines two main research questions: “How do certain firms that have been involved in business for over one century perceive and rank their business values]” and “How do the members of the owner-families self-assess their family characteristics in these century-old family firms]” There are only 68 companies that belong to either the FBN-Finland Association (Perheyritysten liitto ry) or the Association of Finnish Entrepreneurs (Suomen yrittäjät ry) that are over 100 years of age. The data, based on self-assessments of the present active family executives working at the top level, were drawn from 10 FBN companies and 1…
