Modified seromuscular tube: serosa lined bowel wall imbrication as a continent outlet for continent cutaneous urinary diversion.

1999

Purpose: We created a simplified modification of the seromuscular tube technique for continent cutaneous urinary diversion. Materials and Methods: We applied a simplified modification of our seromuscular tube technique in 1 woman and 2 men with a mean age of 53 years in whom outlet failure developed after continent cutaneous urinary diversion, and in whom adiposity and postoperative adhesions rendered revision difficult. We constructed a continent outlet conduit by imbricating the whole bowel wall and suturing it into a tube. Results: At a followup of 4 to 13 months (mean 7) all 3 patients are completely continent without leakage. Catheterization is performed at 3 to 5-hour intervals (mean …

The Thin bilateral and bipedicled DIEAP flap for axillary reconstruction in hidradenitis suppurativa

2019

Reconstruction after resection of advanced stage hidradenitis suppurativa is currently performed with pedicled perforator flaps, that allow functional reconstruction and preservation of shoulder function. Skin availability is limited by the possibility of closing the donor site primarily. Bilateral cases need to be treated in two stages, since the operation is carried out in the lateral decubitus. In this manuscript the application of bilateral and bipedicled DIEAP flaps to bilateral and extensive cases is presented.Between October 2008 and October 2018, 39 patients were treated for axillary hidradenitis suppurativa. Of these, 11 patients had bilateral reconstruction with bilateral DIEAP fl…

Infracyanine Green vs. Brilliant Blue G in Inverted Flap Surgery for Large Macular Holes: A Long-Term Swept-Source OCT Analysis

2020

Background and Objectives: To compare the long-term toxicity of infracyanine green (IFCG) to brilliant blue G (BBG) in inverted internal limiting membrane flap surgery (I-ILMFS) for large, full-thickness macular holes (FTMHs). Intraocular pressure measurements during flap preparation using 2 femtosecond lasers and 1 microkeratome in human donor eyes

2012

Purpose To evaluate and compare intraocular pressures (IOPs) during flap preparations performed using 2 femtosecond lasers and a mechanical microkeratome in human donor globes. Setting University Medical Center Mainz, Mainz, and Euroeyes Clinic Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany. Design Experimental study. Methods A cannula was inserted through the optic nerve in human globes. The IOP was obtained continuously during flap preparation using the 60 kHz Intralase femtosecond laser, the 200 kHz Visumax femtosecond laser, or the Amadeus II microkeratome. For each experiment, a normal lamellar flap preparation (regular procedure) and a worst-case procedure (femtosecond laser interface was pressed agai…

Comparison of Intraocular Pressure During Corneal Flap Preparation Between a Femtosecond Laser and a Mechanical Microkeratome in Porcine Eyes

2011

To compare the increase in intraocular pressure (IOP) during corneal flap preparation in porcine eyes when using a femtosecond laser or a mechanical microkeratome. The present study was conducted at a university hospital and a private clinic. The vitreous IOP was directly measured with a cannula through the optic nerve in 24 porcine globes (n = 12 for each device). In the first procedure (worst-case procedure), the eye interface was lowered against the globe until abortion of the docking maneuver when using the IntraLase femtosecond laser (Abbott Medical Optics, Santa Ana, CA) or the suction ring was pressed very firmly against the globe when using the Amadeus microkeratome (Ziemer Ophthalmic…

The “Jacobsen Flap” Technique: A Safe, Simple Surgical Procedure to Treat Dupuytren Disease of the Little Finger in Advanced Stage

2010

The "Jacobsen flap" technique: a safe, simple surgical procedure to treat Dupuytren disease of the little finger in advanced stage. Tripoli M, Cordova A, Moschella F. Source Chirurgia Plastica e Ricostruttiva, Dipartimento di Discipline Chirurgiche ed Oncologiche, Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy. matripoli@yahoo.it Abstract The surgery for advanced stages of Dupuytren disease of the little finger is controversial. In the literature, several techniques have been described with variable reported results and postoperative complications. Percutaneous needle fasciotomy, McCash technique, and dermofasciectomy are often performed for surgical treatment but they present significant complic…
