Āra bērzs ir saimnieciski nozīmīga koku suga gan Latvijā, gan citviet Eiropā. Augstais pieprasījuma pēc bērza koksnes liek lielāku uzmanību pievērst selekcijai un kvalitatīvu bērza mežaudžu ierīkošanai. Bērzus pavairojot veģetatīvi, var saīsināt selekcijas cikla ilgumu par 10 – 15 gadiem, tādējādi ievērojami palielinot selekcijas efektivitāti. Nobriedušajā fāzē esošus bērzus ir grūti pavairot ar klasiskajām veģetatīvās pavairošanas metodēm, tādēļ mikropavairošanu var izmantot kā alternatīvu. The Internet of Things (IoT) is widely used in advanced logistic systems. Safety and security of such systems are utmost important to guarantee the quality of their services. However, such systems are vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Development of lightweight anomaly based intrusion detection systems (IDS) is one of the key measures to tackle this problem. In this paper, we present a new distributed and lightweight IDS based on an Artificial Immune System (AIS). Abstract Despite awareness of campaigns such as ‘Turn Around, Don’t Drown’ and the Australian state of Queensland’s ‘If It’s Flooded, Forget It’, people continue to drive through floodwaters, causing loss of life, risk to rescuers, and damage to vehicles. The aim of this study was to develop a video infographic that highlights the dangers of driving through floodwaters and provide safety tips to reduce the risk, and to evaluate its effectiveness in changing the beliefs and intentions of Australian adults toward this risky driving behaviour. Lukiolaisten oppiminen infograafien avulla

Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, onko infograafien käyttäminen oppimateriaalina yhteydessä parempiin oppimistuloksiin. Infograafi on multimodaalinen tekstilaji, joka toimii itsenäisenä tekstinä. Tutkimuksessa keskityttiin staattisena eli liikkumattomana infograafina toteutetun oppimateriaalin käyttöön. Vertailukohteena käytettiin kirjoitettua tekstiä. Tutkimuksen kohdejoukkona olivat lukiolaiset (n=45), jotka jaettiin satunnaisesti infograafiryhmään (n=22) ja vertailuryhmään (n=23). Oppimateriaaliin tutustuttuaan opiskelijat tekivät oppimista mittaavan ja taustatietoja kartoittavan kyselyn.
