During the past decades a number of sequence stratigraphy studies illustrated how, during Quaternary, interaction between sea level changes and sediment supply controlled the depositional evolution along continental margins, giving a cyclic signature to the sedimentary infilling. However, as both deposition and erosion are processes ultimately controlled by balance between environmental energy and sedimentary influx, also the oceanographic regime takes part in controlling the sedimentary growth along the continental margin. Microalgae are unicellular and photosynthetic microorganisms that grow using inorganic salts, CO2 and light, and are applied in numerous industrial sectors due to their variety and properties. Due to the lack of information on how microalgae respond to external inputs and to the different environments in which they grow, today the industrial application is not exploited as it should. It is therefore necessary to create models that allow to predict microalgal growth in different photobioreactors to improve our knowledge, still poorly investigated. Abstract Background Although numerous studies on parasites of the Atlantic cod, Gadus morhua L. have been conducted in the North Atlantic, comparative analyses on local cod parasite faunas are virtually lacking. The present study is based on examination of large samples of cod from six geographical areas of the North East Atlantic which yielded abundant baseline data on parasite distribution and abundance. Materials and Methods A total of 826 fish was sampled in the Baltic, Celtic, Irish and North seas, Icelandic waters and Trondheimsfjord (Norway) in 2002 (spring and autumn) and 2003 (spring). Los sistemas tradicionales de regadío forman un legado que se manifiesta mediante lo que conocemos como paisaje y patrimonio del agua. En las áreas del interior valenciano se experimentan disfunciones socioeconómicas que se evidencian paisajísticamente. A partir del análisis en profundidad de un caso de estudio como es la huerta de Cortes de Pallás, en el sector septentrional del macizo del Caroig, se valora si los procesos en ella identificados explican las dinámicas de crisis de los regadíos históricos del interior.
