Regulatory activity of polyunsaturated fatty acids in T-cell signaling.
2009
n-3 Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are considered to be authentic immunosuppressors and appear to exert beneficial effects with respect to certain immune-mediated diseases. In addition to promoting T-helper 1 (Th1) cell to T-helper 2 (Th2) cell effector T-cell differentiation, n-3 PUFA may also exert anti-inflammatory actions by inducing apoptosis in Th1 cells. With respect to mechanisms of action, effects range from the modulation of membrane receptors to gene transcription via perturbation of a number of second messenger cascades. In this review, the putative targets of anti-inflammatory n-3 PUFA, activated during early and late events of T-cell activation will be discussed. Studies h…

Premises of liability of a person who assists in causing damage under Polish civil law
2020
This study has been devoted to selected issues of assistance in causing damage and more specifically to the issue of the premises of liability for damages of a helper under Polish civil law. There is an important dispute in the Polish doctrine of law and in judicial practice as well, whether it is possible to accept liability for damages of the helper in the absence of his intentional fault. The work was prepared using a formal and dogmatic method. Under Polish tort law responsibility for aiding and abetting a damage requires the helper’s intentional fault. The paper could be useful for academics and researchers dealing with the comparative tort law. The study raises arguments for the thesi…

2008
The present field experiment examines the relationship between self-awareness, violation of personal space and helping behavior. A beggar asking for alms on the streets. In conjunction with the dismantling of psychiatric hospitals, social workers have been commissioned to help service users in their daily living in their homes and in the community. The consequences of these changes for experience-based knowledge and practices in their contexts remain relatively unknown. In this study, eighteen service users and the social workers they described as helpful for them were interviewed. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using Thematic Analysis. The following themes emerged: “Here, there and everywhere”, “Doing, being, becoming”, “Talking” and “Order, planning and improvisation” concerning the contradictions service users and professionals m…

Tämä tutkielma käsittelee sukupuolieroja auttamiskäyttäytymisessä. Tutkimus toteutettiin englanninkielisellä kyselylomakkeella internetissä. Kyselylomakkeessa vastaajien tuli kertoa sukupuolensa, johon identifioituvat, ikäryhmänsä, vastata kuuteen avoimeen kysymykseen ja kertoa, miten he käyttäytyisivät erilaisissa kuvitteellisissa tilanteissa, joissa heidän läheinen ystävänsä pyysi heiltä apua. Tilanteet liittyivät kuuteen eri teemaan, joiden on tutkittu vaikuttavan eniten ihmisten onnellisuuteen: psyykkinen sekä fyysinen terveys, siviilisääty, raha, työ ja koulu. Lisäksi yhdessä kysymyksessä vastaajien tuli muistella viimeisintä kertaa, jolloin heidän ystävänsä on pyytänyt heiltä apua jos…
Mining Customer Requirement from Helpful Online Reviews

Today there are a huge quantity of online reviews available across different categories of products. The key question is how to select helpful online reviews and what can we learn from the abundant reviews.
