Reaktivitäut und reaktionswege von methylsubstituierten bisindolylcarbenium-ionen
1987
Methyl substituted bisindolylcarbenium ions 1 react with some O- and C-nucleophiles regioselectively. The cations 1b, 1c yield with hydroxide ions the tetraindolyldimethyl ether 4 and with methoxide ions the bisin-dolylmethoxymethanes 5. Compounds 1a, 1b, 1c react with several methylindoles to isomeric bis- and trisin-dolylmethanes. An electrophilic reactivity order of cations 1 can be derived supporting on the experimental results.
ChemInform Abstract: Unique Regioselectivity in the C(sp3)-H α-Alkylation of Amines: The Benzoxazole Moiety as a Removable Directing Group.
2015
The benzoxazol-2-yl substituent is easily introduced by oxidative coupling or nucleophilic substitution and can be removed by hydroxide or by hydride reduction.
Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 4-allyl-2-methoxy-6-nitrophenol
2020
The crystal structure of 4-allyl-2-methoxy-6-nitrophenol, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P with three independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, is reported along with the Hirshfeld surface analysis.
Crystal structure of bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium) dihydroxidobis(oxalato-κ2 O 1,O 2)stannate(IV) monohydrate
2016
The SnIV atom in the anion of the title compound is six-coordinated by two OH groups and four O atoms from two chelating oxalate ligands. Several N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the stannate dianions, the cations and the water molecules result into a three-dimensional network structure.
Effect of lithium ions on the catalytic efficiency of calcium oxide as a nanocatalyst for the transesterification of lard oil
2019
The present work encompasses the effect of Li+ ions on CaO nanoparticles for the transesterification of lard oil. The modification of CaO nanoparticles was achieved by the impregnation of different molar ratios of lithium hydroxide. Later, each catalyst was screened for the catalytic conversion of lard oil to a fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). The nanocatalyst CaO–0.5LiOH (1 : 0.5 molar ratio) showed the best conversion rate for FAME. The synthesized nanocatalyst was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis, and Hammett indicato…
Characterization of hydroxyaromatic compounds in vegetable oils by capillary electrophoresis with direct injection in an oil-miscible KOH/propanol/me…
2005
The separation of hydroxyaromatic compounds in vegetable oils, including synthetic antioxidants (3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisol and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxytoluene), E-vitamers and other natural oil components, by nonaqueous capillary electrophoresis in an oil-miscible background electrolyte (BGE) was investigated. The BGE contained 40 mM KOH in a methanol/1-propanol (PrOH) mixture (15:85 v/v). The oil samples were 1:1 diluted with PrOH and directly injected in the capillary. Under negative polarity (cathode at the injection end), the anionic solutes moved faster than the electroosmotic flow, being well-resolved among them and from the triacylglycerols. Using virgin palm, extra virgin oliv…
In vitro antibacterial activity of different pulp capping materials
2015
Background: Direct pulp capping involves the application of a dental material to seal communications between the exposed pulp and the oral cavity (mechanical and carious pulp exposures) in an attempt to act as a barrier, protect the dental pulp complex and preserve its vitality. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare, by the agar disc diffusion test, the antimicrobial activity of six different pulp-capping materials: Dycal (Dentsply), Calcicur (Voco), Calcimol LC (Voco), TheraCal LC (Bisco), MTA Angelus (Angelus), Biodentine (Septodont). Material and Methods: Streptococcus salivarius , Streptococcus sanguis and Streptococcus mutans strains were selected to evaluate the antimicrob…
INTERACTIONS BETWEEN FUNCTIONALIZED THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER AND LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDES
2016
Results coming from rheological analysis clearly suggest that in SEBS-g-MA-based nanocomposites, containing high amount of o-LDH, the formation of strong interactions between the dispersed nanoparticles and maleic functionalities of matrix occurs. A significant modification of the rheological behaviour can be noticed due to the formation of gel-like structures.
Comment on “Crystallographic Snapshot of an Arrested Intermediate in the Biomimetic Activation of CO2”
2015
Out of focus: A recent Communication published in this journal describes the synthesis of [nBu4 N]HCO3 . The authors performed a single-crystal X-ray study that revealed a putative species described as an incipient hydroxide ion engaging in a long, and presumably weak, interaction with CO2 . Our recent exploration of the coordination chemistry of CO2 with small ions leads us to believe that such an exceptional bonding situation is unlikely. Instead, we argue that the crystal structure is that of [nBu4 N]O2 CCH3 and therefore not representative of the bulk powder from the synthesis.
