[Ir(C^N)2(N^N)]+ emitters containing a naphthalene unit within a linker between the two cyclometallating ligands

2016

The synthesis of four cyclometallated [Ir(C^N) 2 (N^N)][PF 6 ] compounds in which N^N is a substituted 2,2’- -bipyridine (bpy) ligand and the naphthyl-centred ligand 2,7-bis(2-(2-(4-(pyridin-2-yl)phenoxy)ethoxy) ethoxy)naphthalene provides the two cyclometallating C^N units is reported. The iridium( III ) complexes have been characterized by 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopies, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis, and their electrochemical and photophysical properties are described. Comparisons are made with a model [Ir(ppy) 2 (N^N)][PF 6 ] compound (Hppy = 2-phenylpyridine). The complexes containing the naphthyl-unit exhibit similar absorption spectra and excitation at 280 nm leads to an …

Investigation of molecular dimers by ensemble and single molecule spectroscopy

2002

International audience; We have investigated molecular dimers with different electronic coupling strengths by bulk and single molecule spectroscopy. In one of the dimers the two monomers (perylene-monoimide) are directly connected via a single bond while in the other one they are separated by the benzil motif. The close proximity of the monomers in the first case gives rise to excitonic band splitting which is clearly observable in the bulk absorption spectra. For the benzil structure the electronic interactions are governed by Förster-type energy hopping between the monomers. Fluorescence intensity trajectories at the single molecule level show one-step and two-step bleaching behaviour whi…

Regio(ir)regular naphthalenediimide- and perylenediimide-bithiophene copolymers: How MO localization controls the bandgap

2016

Absorption spectra of regio(ir)regular naphthalenediimide (NDI)- and perylenediimide (PDI)-bithiophene (2T) donor/acceptor (D/A) copolymers are surprisingly similar despite cross-conjugation in the regioirregular structures. This result is traced back to largely localized frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) as revealed by (time-dependent) DFT calculations. Interestingly, while the FMOs of the P(PDI-2T) copolymer are localized solely in the PDI units, they are predominantly localized in the respective D/A units of the P(NDI-2T) copolymer. The pronounced CT character of the lowest singlet state in P(NDI-2T) should give rise to a close lying CT triplet state, generating small singlet–triplet ga…

Channeling experiments at planar diamond and silicon single crystals with electrons from the Mainz Microtron MAMI

2020

Line structures were observed for (110) planar channeling of electrons in a diamond single crystal even at a beam energy of 180 MeV . This observation motivated us to initiate dechanneling length measurements as function of the beam energy since the occupation of quantum states in the channeling potential is expected to enhance the dechanneling length. High energy loss signals, generated as a result of emission of a bremsstrahlung photon with about half the beam energy at channeling of 450 and 855 MeV electrons, were measured as function of the crystal thickness. The analysis required additional assumptions which were extracted from the numerical solution of the Fokker-Planck equation. Prel…

The value of accessibility in the culturalandcreative industries Translation-driven settings

2020

The accessibility of Cultural Creative Industries(CCI) has grown exponentially in different parts of the globe and has increasingly become part of projects of significant importance in contemporary societies that rely on informational, global, and networked systems of communication, i.e., developed countries. CCI exist within public-domain areas and are stimulated by the critical rethinking of the means which can be used to support cultural development. CCI are in fact driven by structures of the knowledge-based economy, where information, originality, and creativity contribute to providing stimuli to their rise. Their emergence is the result of advances in cultural spheres and movements, a…

A spatially resolved investigation of the local, micro-magnetic domain structure of single and polycrystalline Co2FeSi

2007

The Heusler compound Co2FeSi is a promising material for magneto-electronic devices. With a Curie temperature of 1100?K and a saturation magnetization of 6?Bohr magnetons and a high spin polarization at the Fermi edge it fulfils the essential requirements for magnetic sensors or spin valve structures. An essential feature for such devices is the micro-magnetic domain structure. X-ray magnetic circular dichroism?photo emission electron microscopy has been used for a direct observation of the domain structure of single- and polycrystalline samples. The polycrystalline material exhibits a micro-magnetic ripple structure, as it is well known for pure Co and other polycrystalline Heusler compoun…

Las dificultades para la educación integradora desde la perspectiva de futuros maestros de inglés

2009

This article presents and analyses the findings of a qualitative study about the perceptions expressed by prospective primary teachers of English about integration and response to special educational needs in the mainstream. The analysis of the data, obtained in the course of the practice teaching period of their course, evidences their ideas on integrative education; besides, a frequent lack of experiences of genuine integrative practices in such a critical period of professional preparation is identified. El presente artículo presenta y analiza los hallazgos de un estudio de naturaleza cualitativa sobre las percepciones que expresan futuros maestros especialistas de inglés en el transcurs…

Rhythmic variations in reaction times and evoked potentials

1995

The present work aimed to assess the existence of a regular ultradian cyclicity underlying the variations in amplitude of the N1-P2 component of acoustic EP during a relatively long recording session and investigate its relationship with behavioral measure as RT to the same stimulus. 128 tones were presented to each subject; 128 RTs and the associated EPs to target stimuli were recorded. N1-P2 amplitude has been measured at a single trial level through Woody adaptive filter modified by Wastell. Results showed that there are ultradian rhythmic variations of N1-P2 and RT, with a periodicity from about 5 to 40 min and these variations have similar patterns in the two measures in most of the su…

Selective derivatisation of resorcarenes. Part 5. Acylation of tetrabenzoxazine derivatives

2000

The reaction of the tetrabenzoxazines 2 with acetic anhydride under mild conditions leads selectively and exclusively to the tetraamides 3 in which the oxazine rings are opened; their structure was deduced from their 1H NMR spectra and confirmed for one example by an X-ray single crystal structure analysis; acylation of the hydroxy groups was not observed.

Optimization design process of a morphing winglet

2018

Aeronautic and aerospace engineering is recently moving in the direction of developing morphing wing devices, with the aim of making adaptable the aerodynamic shapes to different operational conditions. Those devices may be classified according to two different conceptual architectures: kinematic or compliant systems. Both of them embed within their body all the active components (actuators and sensors), necessary to their operations. In the first case, the geometry variation is achieved through an augmented classical mechanism, while in the second case the form modification is due to a special arrangement of the inner structure creating a distributed elastic hinges arrangement. Whatever is…
