First observation of high-K isomeric states in $$^{249}$$Md and $$^{251}$$Md
2021
Decay spectroscopy of the odd-proton nuclei $^{249}$Md and $^{251}$Md has been performed. High-K isomeric states were identified for the first time in these two nuclei through the measurement of their electromagnetic decay. An isomeric state with a half-life of 2.8(5) ms and an excitation energy $\ge 910$ keV was found in $^{249}$Md. In $^{251}$Md, an isomeric state with a half-life of 1.4(3) s and an excitation energy $\ge 844$ keV was found. Similarly to the neighbouring $^{255}$Lr, these two isomeric states are interpreted as 3 quasi-particle high-K states and compared to new theoretical calculations. Excited nuclear configurations were calculated within two scenarios: via blocking nucle…
Analysis of the Intermediate-State Contributions to Neutrinoless Double β− Decays
2016
A comprehensive analysis of the structure of the nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) of neutrinoless double beta-minus (0νβ-β-) decays to the0+ground and first excited states is performed in terms of the contributing multipole states in the intermediate nuclei of0νβ-β-transitions. We concentrate on the transitions mediated by the light (l-NMEs) Majorana neutrinos. As nuclear model we use the proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation (pnQRPA) with a realistic two-nucleon interaction based on the Bonn one-boson-exchangeGmatrix. In the computations we include the appropriate short-range correlations, nucleon form factors, and higher-order nucleonic weak currents and restore the isospi…
Limits on tau lepton-flavor violating decays into three charged leptons
2010
A search for the neutrinoless, lepton-flavor violating decay of the tau lepton into three charged leptons has been performed using an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. In all six decay modes considered, the numbers of events found in data are compatible with the background expectations. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set in the range (1.8-3.3) x 10(-8) at 90% confidence level.

First evidence for a charm radial excitation, D
1998
Using D*+ mesons exclusively reconstructed in the DELPHI detector at LEP, an excess of 66 +/- 14(stat.) events is observed in the D(*+)pi(+)pi(-) final state with a mass of 2637 +/- 2(stat.) +/- 6(syst.) MeV/c(2) and a full width smaller than 15 MeV/c(2) (95% C.L.). This signal is compatible with the expected decay of a radially excited D*' (J(P) = 1(-))meson. Three beta-decaying states in 128In and 130In resolved for the first time using Penning-trap techniques
2020
Isomeric states in 128In and 130In have been studied with the JYFLTRAP Penning trap at the IGISOL facility. By employing state-of-the-art ion manipulation techniques, three different beta-decaying states in 128In and 130In have been separated and their masses measured. JYFLTRAP was also used to select the ions of interest for identification at a post-trap decay spectroscopy station. A new beta-decaying high-spin isomer feeding the isomer in 128Sn has been discovered in 128In at 1797.6(20) keV. Shell-model calculations employing a CD-Bonn potential re-normalized with the perturbative G-matrix approach suggest this new isomer to be a 16⁺ spin-trap isomer. In 130In, the lowest-lying (10⁻) isom…
Time-resolved luminescence of CsITl crystals excited by pulsed electron beam
1997
Abstract Results of the time-resolved measurements of CsITl crystal luminescence under electron pulse excitation at room temperature are reported. The rise and decay times of both 400 and 500 nm emission bands have been measured. The results obtained show that the main mechanism of the luminescence excitation is hole recombination luminescence which is due to self-trapped hole migration toward Tl 0 centres. Stimulation spectra of photostimulated luminescence of CsITl are also analyzed.
Time-resolved spectroscopy of ZnWO4
2001
The luminescence spectra of ZnWO 4 excited by a pulsed electron beam, pulsed nitrogen laser and X-ray are studied. The luminescence decay kinetics are compared with transient absorption relaxation kinetics. Broad band transient absorption spectra are observed and it is shown that the slow decay component (∼14 μs at RT) of the transient absorption matches well with the luminescence decay therefore this absorption is due to the excited state absorption of the luminescence center.
