Objective:To determine the effect of different retraction cord medicaments on surface detail reproduction of polyvinyl siloxane impression materials and compare this effect on any two brands of commercially available polyvinyl siloxane impression materials. Material and methods: Four stainless steel dies were made according to ADA specification no.19. Three dies were treated with aluminium chloride (5%), ferric sulphate (13.3%) and epinephrine (0.1%) while the fourth one was left untreated to serve as control. This paper deals with the issue of honor culture in Poland. In a traditional honor culture, honorable men should be sensitive to situations where their honor is defiled. They should also be ready to defend their good name (Cohen and Nisbett, 1997), even if it means using violence. In such a culture women cannot actively defend their honor. The authors checked the gender role differences (both in actor and observer perspective) in attitudes towards honorable behaviors. Kandidaatintutkielman aiheena ja tutkimuskohteena on Albert Edelfeltin (1854–1905) taiteen suhde impressionismiin. Tutkielman toisessa luvussa selvitetään lyhyesti Edelfeltin taiteilijaelämää ja hänen sekä impressionistien taidenäyttelyitä Pariisissa. Siinä selvitetään myös, mitä impressionismilla tarkoitetaan ja mitä oli ulkoilmamaalaus 1800-luvulla. Kolmas luku liittyy tutkimuskysymykseen. Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan suomalaisen taiteilija Torsten Wasastjernan (1863–1924) 1800- ja 1900-luvun vaihteeseen sijoittuvaa maalaustaidetta. Wasastjerna opiskeli ja työskenteli Düsseldorfissa ja Pariisissa 1880- ja 1890-luvulla. Tutkielman pääpaino onkin Pariisin kauden aikana ja sen jälkeen syntyneissä teoksissa. Tutkielman tavoitteena on ollut tarkastella Wasastjernan teoksia ja tehdä havaintoja niiden aiheista ja toteutuksesta. Tutkielmassa Wasastjernan taiteesta löydettävissä olevia aihepiirejä on tarkasteltu teosesimerkkien kautta.
