Optimized recombinant dense bodies of human cytomegalovirus efficiently prime virus specific lymphocytes and neutralizing antibodies without the addi…
2010
Control of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection correlates with the reconstitution of antiviral T lymphocytes in haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients. A vaccine to foster this reconstitution and to ameliorate the severe consequences of HCMV reactivation is yet unavailable. This work focused on providing a rationale for the amendment of the yields and the antigenic composition of a vaccine, based on subviral dense bodies (DB) of HCMV. Modified DB were generated that contained the HLA-A2 presented IE1 model peptide TMYGGISLL, integrated at different positions in the major DB protein pp65. Insertion at position W175 of pp65 allowed efficient formation of recDB in the cytoplasm of i…
N-protonated 2-pyridylnickel(II) complexes insertion of isocyanides into the nickel2-pyridyl bond
1987
The reaction of the binuclear complex [NiCl(μ-2-py)(PPh3)]2 (μ-2-py = μ-C5H4N-C2,N) with the phosphines L (L = PPh3, PMePh2, PMe2Ph or PEt3) or dppe (= 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane) in the presence of HClO4 yields the N-protonated 2-pyridyl derivatives trans-[NiCl(2-pyH)(L)2]ClO4 or [NiCl(2-pyH)(dppe)] ClO4 (2-pyH = C5H5N-C2) with a square-planar coordination around the nickel(II) center. These products are largely associated through hydrogen bonding between the NH group and the perchlorate anion, both in the solid and in chlorinated solvents. The configuration in solution has been studied by 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy. In the complex trans-[NiCl(2-pyH)(PMe2Ph)2]ClO4, the planar 2-pyH…
Genetic rearrangement of the atzAB atrazine-degrading gene cassette from pADP1::Tn5 to the chromosome of Variovorax sp. MD1 and MD2
2007
International audience; We report the characterization of the rearrangement phenomena responsible for the movement of the atrazine-degrading atzA and B genes from pADP1::Tn5 to the chromosome of Variovorax sp. MD1 and MD2. Long PCRs and Southern blot analyses revealed that the two genes forming a gene cassette moved in a unique rearrangement event. It also revealed that the boundaries of the plasmid sequence inserted in the chromosome correspond to IS1071or to sequences close to IS1071. It suggests that this genetic rearrangement could result from the transposition of the composite transposon delimited by IS1071 insertion sequences and containing atzA and atzB genes. In addition, for MD1 an…
Characterization of a new, nonpathogenic mutant of Botrytis cinerea with impaired plant colonization capacity.
2006
International audience; Botrytis cinerea is a necrotrophic pathogen that attacks more than 200 plant species. Here, the nonpathogenic mutant A336, obtained via insertional mutagenesis, was characterized.Mutant A336 was nonpathogenic on leaves and fruits, on intact and wounded tissue, while still able to penetrate the host plant. It grew normally in vitro on rich media but its conidiation pattern was altered. The mutant did not produce oxalic acid and exhibited a modified regulation of the production of some secreted proteins (acid protease 1 and endopolygalacturonase 1). Culture filtrates of the mutant triggered an important oxidative burst in grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ) suspension cells, a…
III. Darstellung und molekülstruktur von triazoboracyclooctanen
1976
Abstract The aminoboration of phenylisocyanate or phenylisothiocyanate with 2-phenyl-1,3,2-diazabora-cyclohexane yields under ring expansion the eight-membered BNC-heterocycles 2,3-diphenyl-1,3,5-triaza-2-bora-cyclooctane-4-one or 2,3-diphenyl-1,3,5-triaza-2-bora-cyclooctane-4-thione, respectively. Isomeric structures, which can appear in the insertion reaction, are discussed on the basis of spectroscopic data.
Darstellung eines neuen achtgliedrigen BNC-heteroringes
1975
Abstract 2-Phenyl-1,3,2-diazaboracyclohexane reacts with phenylisocyanate by an insertion reaction leading to an eight-membered BNC-heterocycle.
THE INFLUENCE OF TOOL STIFFNESS OF THE LIFETIME OF THE INSERTS IN INTERRUPTED CUTTING OPERATIONS
1989
ABSTRACT In the present paper the influence exerted by the stiffness of the tool-workpiece system under working conditions on tool life up to the fracture of carbide inserts in interrupted cutting is investigated. It is shown how, with the increase in compliance of the system, there is a corresponding increase in the average tool life of the insert which is greater the lesser the cutting speed. The results of tests carried out indicate as a possible cause the amount of damage evident in the successive phase of tool engagement with the workpiece. It was observed how, in this phase, the tool, vibrating at the same rate as the toolholder produces alternations in the cutting force. This effect …
Experimental Study of Vibrations in Face Milling Cutting
2014
The paper consists of a research in designing and experimental analysis using a face milling cutter with round inserts. A general model for the new cutter is proposed taking into consideration multiple aspects regarding monitoring and controling the milling process. A comparison of measured vibrations when cutting with different parameters for two constructions of the milling head is presented. The objective of this vibration comparison is to verify wether the new design behaves in similar way with the classic and proven concept of insert clamping using a central screw.
New Materials Design Through Friction Stir Processing Techniques
2007
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has reached a large interest in the scientific community and in the last years also in the industrial environment, due to the advantages of such solid state welding process with respect 1(o) the classic ones. The complex material flow occurring during the process plays a fundamental role in such solid state welding process, since it determines dramatic changes in the material microstructure of the so called weld nugget, which affects the effectiveness of the joints. What is more, Friction Stir Processing (FSP) is mainly being considered for producing high-strain-rate-superplastic (HSRS) microstructure in commercial aluminum alloys. The aim of the present research…
Wear rates and wear mechanisms of alumina-based tools cutting steel at a low cutting speed
1997
Abstract Three ceramic insert materials, zirconia-toughened alumina (Al 2 O 3 –7vol%ZrO 2 ), mixed-based alumina (Al 2 O 3 –TiN–TiC–ZrO 2 ) and alumina reinforced with SiC whiskers (Al 2 O 3 –SiC w ), were used to cut AISI 1040 steel at 3.9 m s −1 . In addition, a traditional grade P10 insert (WC–TiC–Co) was tested. The lifetimes, according to KT/KM and VB B criteria, were determined using a profilometer and by image processing. The worn zones were observed with scanning electron microscopy techniques. Adhesion and plastic deformation were dominant wear mechanisms in zirconia-toughened alumina, mixed-based alumina and sintered carbide P10, both in the craters and in the cutting edges. As we…
