Pasakainās realitātes analīze Hajao Mijadzaki animācijas filmās

2015

Bakalaura darba tēma ir "Pasakainās realitātes analīze Hajao Mijadzaki animācijas filmās". Darba uzdevums ir izanalizēt trīs Mijadzaki režisētās filmas: "Kiki’s delivery service", "Spirited away" un "Howl’s moving castle" ar mērķi noskaidrot, kādu vēstījumu tās komunicē, kādas universālas tēmas ir skartas un vērtības tiek cilātas; izanalizēt filmas personāžu nestereotipiskus tēlus; izpētīt izdomātās realitātes vidi. Pētniecības metodes ietver sevī naratīva un semiotisko analīzi. Dziļai naratīva izpētei tika izmantoti Todorova pieci naratīva līmeņi, interpretēta Labova shēma, ka arī Barta naratīva notikumu klasifikācija. Stāstījuma varoņu izpētei tika izmantota Propa pasaku personāžu klasifi…

Activation of metabotropic glutamate receptors induces propagating network oscillations in the intact cerebral cortex of the newborn mouse.

2006

Activation of metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) with (1S,3R)-1-aminocyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (ACPD) elicited in the frontal or occipital pole of the intact cerebral cortex preparation of the newborn mouse (P0-P3) a transient oscillatory field potential activity in the frequency range of 11-14Hz. These oscillations propagated over the whole cortical hemisphere and were blocked by tetrodotoxin, indicating that action potentials are required for the generation of this activity. Blockade of GABA-A receptors with gabazine did not influence the ACPD-induced network activity, but the glycine antagonist strychnine caused a significant decrease in the frequency, amplitude and durat…

The role of the substantia nigra in the control of amygdaloid paroxysmal activity.

1981

AbstractBoth in acute and chronic cats, focal paroxysmal activity evoked in the ventro-basal complex of the amygdala has been inhibited by substantia nigra conditioning stimulation, to a greater extent, than by caudate nucleus activation. Injection of kainic acid into substantia nigra resulted in the disappearance of the caudate inhibition. It is suggested that the final control, exerted by the striatum on the amygdaloid seizures, occurs by means of the substantia nigra.

Na+-dependent Glutamate Transporters (EAAT1, EAAT2, and EAAT3) of the Blood-Brain Barrier

1999

Na(+)-dependent transporters for glutamate exist on astrocytes (EAAT1 and EAAT2) and neurons (EAAT3). These transporters presumably assist in keeping the glutamate concentration low in the extracellular fluid of brain. Recently, Na(+)-dependent glutamate transport was described on the abluminal membrane of the blood-brain barrier. To determine whether the above-mentioned transporters participate in glutamate transport of the blood-brain barrier, total RNA was extracted from bovine cerebral capillaries. cDNA for EAAT1, EAAT2, and EAAT3 was observed, indicating that mRNA was present. Western blot analysis demonstrated all three transporters were expressed on abluminal membranes, but none was …

Regulation of X Chromosome-Linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein (XIAP) in Kainic Acid Induced Neuronal Cell Death in the Rat Hippocampus

2001

INTRODUCTION. Inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family consists of several antiapoptotic proteins conserved among species. The IAPs have a well-conserved motif of approximately 65 residues, called the baculovirus inhibitory repeat (BIR) (1). Baculovirus and drosophila IAPs have two, but most IAPs contain three BIR domains. Most of the IAPs also have a C-terminal RING domain which consists of conserved amino acids with zinc binding capacity. XIAP is one of the five known human IAPs and it binds directly and inhibits the activity of caspases (2). The BIR2 domain in XIAP is sufficient to mediate this inhibition (3). However little is known about the presence and function of XIAP in the nerv…

The control of amygdaloid seizures by the globus pallidus.

1981

Both in acute and chronic cats entopeduncular stimulation inhibits, to a greater extent than caudate activation, focal paroxysmal activity in the ventro-basal complex of the amygdala. Lesion of entopeduncular neurons, by means of kainic acid injection, induces a decrease of the caudate inhibitory effect. It is suggested that neostriatal control of the amygdaloid seizures occurs partly through the globus pallidus.

Calretinin/PSA-NCAM immunoreactive granule cells after hippocampal damage produced by kainic acid and DEDTC treatment in mouse.

2003

There is a dramatic increase in the number of lightly immunoreactive calretinin cells in the granular layer of the dentate gyrus of the mouse hippocampus 1 day after excitotoxic injury using kainic acid combined with the zinc chelator diethyldithiocarbamate. At 7 days after treatment, these cells are strongly immunoreactive for calretinin and for the polysialated form of the glycoprotein neural cell adhesion molecule (PSA-NCAM). The reexpression of calretinin and PSA-NCAM after treatment corresponds well with the loss of input from the damaged hilar mossy cells. These cells could be considered immature granule cells since they are immunoreactive to markers for immature cells such as PSA-NCA…
