Elżbieta z domu Branicka była od 1732 roku trzecią żoną Jana Tarły, wojewody lubelskiego, a od 1736 roku wojewody sandomierskiego. Korespondencja pomiędzy małżonkami wskazuje na dobre relacje, oparte o wzajemna troskę i zaufania. No to ostatnie Elżbieta w pełni zasługiwała za swoja postawę w latach 1733 - 1736 przetrwać trudne czasy wojny. W rzeczywistości stawiała czoła realnym, być może wyolbrzymionym zagrożeniom. Uwypukliło to takie cechy jej charakteru, jak zdecydowanie, zaradność, i odporność na sytuacje kryzysowe. Elżbieta z Branickich Tarłowa potrafiła dbać o siebie, męża i majątek rodzinny.

Przedmiotem analizy jest niewielka książka zatytułowana Dopisy / Listy (2009) współczesnego pisarza Michala Šandy (1965), w której autor nawiązuje korespondencyjny dialog z Karlem Havlíčkiem Borovskim (1821–1856). Kreatywnie wykorzystuje w tym celu autentyczne listy, jakie czeski publicysta wysyłał z Brixen do brata Františka i splata je z półroczną relacją ze swojego życia opisywaną w konwencji realizmu magicznego. The text of the article is an analysis of Gregory of Nazianzus’ comments on Christian perfection. They were selected from his letters written in his family regions after returning from Constantinople, where he occupied for two years the position in the episcopal capital. It was a period of almost ten years of his life, until his death in 390, in which he contacted many people mainly through letters, because weak health prevented him from traveling frequently. The analysis of the letters showed that the threads containing recommendations, warnings, cautions, and encouragements were numerous in them. Analysis of approximately 165 letters of Gregory Nazianzen written by him in the last decade of his life revealed a large part of them devoted to his involvement in the current affairs of the ecclesial community. This paper looks at the rich, and largely unexplored, correspondence of Jan Józef Baranowski, an insurgent in the November Uprising, a refugee in France and England, an accomplished inventor and the author of a two-volume bilingual dictionary (Anglo-Polish lexicon, 1883; Słownik polsko-angielski, 1884). Baranowski’s letters, primarily those addressed to Leonard Niedźwiedzki, allow one to investigate both his lexicographic conceptions and working methods. As it has turned out, the design of his dictionary was innovative, but Baranowski had experience neither in lexicography nor foreign language teaching.
