Darba aktualitāte: Aukslēju mandeļukriptolīze ir salīdzinoši jauna ārstēšanas pieeja otorinolaringoloģijas jomā. Pirmie pētījumu ziņojumi meklējami vien 1994.gadā. Kopš tā laika arvien nav atrasti objektīvi, reāli diagnosticējami pacientu atlases kritēriji, kuriem šī ārstēšanas metode varētu sniegt labākos rezultātus ilgtermiņā. Šobrīd biežākais šīs procedūras veikšanas iemesls ir hronisks kazeozs tonsilīts (CCT), ko pavada tādi simptomi kā bāli dzeltenīgu, biezpienam līdzīgu graudiņu jeb t.s. detrīra korķu veidošanās, halitoze (slikta elpa, “foetor ex ore”), nepatīkama piegaršā mutē, pastāvīga diskomforta vai niezēšanas sajūtas rīklē, kā arī svešķermeņa sajūta rīklē. The present study deals with the encounter with modernity in two neighbouring religious spaces: Christian Orthodoxy and Islam. Relying on Eisenstadt’s theory about multiple modernities and on its further developments by Thomas Mergel and Kristina Stoeckl, Islamic and Christian-Orthodox dynamics in relation to the challenges of modernity are examined under two aspects: first, the decoupling between religion and culture as elaborated by Olivier Roy, and second, the development of modernist and fundamentalist currents as phenomena of modernity. Why is there truth? Foucault in the age of post-truth politics

Contemporary debates about post‐truth politics have raised the question of the complicity of Michel Foucault’s thought in the apparent decline of the authority of truth in Western democracies. In this article we probe this question in the analysis of Foucault’s theory of true discourses developed in his 1980‐1981 lecture course ‘Subjectivity and Truth’. In this course Foucault argues for non‐necessary and supplementary character of truths in relation to the reality of which they speak. This argument leads him to abandon the familiar approaches to truth as reflecting, concealing or rationalizing reality and look for the effects of truth in the processes of subjectivation. The Sapiehas and the Potockis were amongst the most influential families of the Polish‑Lithuanian Commonwealth. The latter family owned numerous estates in Ukraine, which were directly under threat from marching Lithuanian soldiers. Kazimierz Jan Sapieha, Grand Hetman of Lithuania was in charge of the said estates. Due to cooperation of the two magnate families, he attempted to shield the Potockis’ estates and possessions from Lithuanian troops marching to or returning from the war with Turkey. In this study, ultrasonication (US) (50 W, 30 kHz, 1–6 min) was used to increase the efficiency of Limosilactobacillus reuteri PTCC 1655 fermentation process (37 °C; 30 h) of Bakraei juice. Total sugars, pH, Brix, organic acids, vitamin C, polyphenols, antioxidant activity, α-amylase inhibition and anti-inflammatory properties were measured during the fermentation period. The results showed that by increasing the ultrasound time up to 5 min, pH, vitamin C, citric acid, and polyphenolic compounds decreased, while lactic acid, antioxidant capacity, α-amylase inhibition and anti-inflammatory properties were increased. Ievads: Bērnība ir svarīgs periods zarnu mikrobiotas attīstībā. Pētījumi liecina, ka zarnu mikrobiotu ietekmē daudzi faktori no dzimšanas līdz pilngadībai, jo īpaši zarnu mikrobiota ir jutīga pret antibakteriālo ārstēšanu. Tomēr zīdaiņi un mazuļi bieži saņem antibakteriālu ārstēšanu dažādu slimību dēļ, tādējādi ietekmējot zarnu mikrobiotas sastāvu. Mērķis - analizēt zarnu mikrobiotas sastāvu bērniem, kuri saņem antibakteriālu ārstēšanu, salīdzinot dažādu baktēriju taksonomisko vienību relatīvo daudzumu sākotnējā stāvoklī un vienu nedēļu un mēnesi pēc terapijas sākuma un ietekmējošos faktorus bērniem līdz piecu gadu vecumam Latvijā. Pharyngodon medinae Garcia-Calvente, 1948 (Nematoda: Pharyngodonidae) is redescribed from Podarcis pityusensis (Bosca, 1883) (Sauria: Lacertidae) of the Balearic Islands (Spain) and confirmed as a member of the genus Skrjabinodon Inglis, 1968. A systematic review of S. medinae and closely related species is also given. Parathelandros canariensis is referred to Skrjabinodon as a new combination and Parathelandros Magzoub et al., 1980 is dismissed as a junior homonym of Parathelandros Baylis, 1930.
