Characterization of a 10Hz double-pulse non-normal incidence pumped transient collisional Ni-like molybdenum soft x-ray laser for applications
2009
Stable and reliable operation of a nickel-like molybdenum transient collisional soft x-ray laser at 18.9 nm demonstrated and studied with a 10Hz Ti:sapphire laser system proves the suitability of the double-pulse non-normal incidence pumping geometry for table-top high repetition soft x-ray lasers and broadens the attractiveness of x-ray lasers as sources of coherent radiation for various applications. X-ray laser emission with pulse energies well above 1 μJ is obtained for several hours at 10Hz repetition-rate without re-alignment under optimized double pumping pulse parameters including energy ratio, time delay, pulse duration and line focus width.
Laser Vibrometer Interferometry for Speckle Patterns Tracking Systems
2017
In this paper we propose a modulated laser system combining a speckle pattern tracking method for surface tilting changes sensing with an interferometer for surface z-axis changes sensing at the same scan time.
Homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening in single perovskite nanocrystals investigated by micro-photoluminescence
2021
Abstract Metal halides with perovskite crystalline structure have given rise to efficient optoelectronic and photonic devices. In the present work, we have studied the light emission properties of single CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 semiconductor perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs), as the basis for a statistical analysis of micro-photoluminescence (micro-PL) spectra measured on tens of them. At room temperature, the linewidth extracted from PL spectra acquired in dense films of these nanocrystals is not very different from that of micro-PL measured in single nanocrystals. This means that the homogeneous linewidth due to exciton-phonon interaction is comparable or larger than the inhomogeneous effect asso…
NEUTRON IRRADIATION EFFECTS IN PZ and PZT THIN FILMS
2005
ABSTRACT Neutron irradiation effects on highly oriented antiferroelectric PbZrO3 (PZ) and ferroelectric PbZr0.53Ti0.47O3 (PZT) thin films are investigated in view of their possible application as a temperature sensitive element in a new bolometer system for fusion devices like ITER. All investigated thin films were prepared by a sol-gel technique and by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) respectively. The dielectric properties were investigated in a frequency range from 1 to 250 kHz and at temperatures up to 400°C, prior to and after irradiation to a neutron fluence of 3 * 1022 m−2 (E > 0.1 MeV). After irradiation, the films were anneald in several steps up to 400°C in order to remove the radiat…
Controlling the carrier-envelope phase of few-cycle focused laser beams with a dispersive beam expander
2008
We report on a procedure to focalize few-cycle laser pulses in dispersive media with controlled waveform. Stationarity of the carrier-envelope phase for extended depth of focus is attained by shaping the spatial dispersion of the ultrashort beam. An adjustable group velocity is locally tuned in order to match a prescribed phase velocity at focus. A hybrid diffractive-refractive lens system is proposed to drive the wavefield to an immersion microscope objective under convenient broadband modulation. Numerical simulations demonstrate robustness over positioning of this dispersive beam expander.
<title>Dot-matrix holographic recording in amorphous chalcogenide films</title>
2006
We have developed PC controlled dot-matrix holographic recording system based on the CW diode pumped YAG:Nd SHG laser (wavelength 532 nm, power 30mW,) modulated electronically with TTL signals. Two-beam technique has been used with convergence angle 30o and PC controlled incident beam plane rotation 0-360o. Optical system consists of beam splitter, 40mm focus length forming cylindrical lens and 40mm focusing lens. Characteristic parameters of experimental equipment are following: spot size - 50-200 micrometers, direct laser writing area, limited by x-y positioning system, was 70mm x 70mm, number of writing head rotation positions up to 256 (8 bit), time of each exposure - 1-1000 msec. As th…
Long-cavity all-fiber ring laser actively mode locked with an in-fiber bandpass acousto-optic modulator.
2013
We demonstrate low-frequency active mode locking of an erbium-doped all-fiber ring laser. As the mode locker, we used a new in-fiber bandpass acousto-optic modulator showing 74% modulation depth, 3.7 dB power insertion losses, 4.5 nm of optical bandwidth, and 20 dB of nonresonant light suppression. The laser generates 330 ps mode-locked pulses over a 10 ns pedestal, at a 1.538 MHz frequency, with 130 mW of pump power. Fil: Cuadrado Laborde, Christian Ariel. Universidad de Valencia; España. High-repetition rate acoustic-induced Q-switched all-fiber laser
2005
We report a high repetition rate actively Q switched all fiber laser. The acousto optic interaction controls the cou pling between co propagating core and cladding modes and is used to modulate the optical losses of the cavity, which permits to perform active Q-switching. Using 1.4 m of 300 ppm Er-doped fiber and a maximum pump power of 120 mW, we have obtained up to 1 W peak power pulses, with a pulse repetition rate that can be continuously varied from 1 Hz to 120 kHz and a pulse width that changes from 70 ns to 2.2 μs.
Transparent amorphous memory cell: A bipolar resistive switching in ZnO/Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3/ITO for invisible electronics application
2014
Abstract ZnO/Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (ZnO/PCMO) amorphous thin films were grown on an indium-tin-oxide (ITO)/glass by pulsed laser deposition at room temperature. Interestingly, a stable bipolar resistive switching behavior of the ITO/ZnO/PCMO/ITO cell can be longer than 2.5 × 103 cycles. The on/off ratio of switching behaviors is as high as 104. The structure of ITO/ZnO/PCMO/ITO exhibits a high average transparency of 79.6% in the visible range with a maximum transparency of 84.6% at 590 nm wavelength. The conductive mechanism during switching cycling in our structure can be described by a trapped-control space charge limited current behavior. The ZnO/PCMO/ITO/glass structure shows a potential of t…
A pulsed laser technique for an evaluation of the spall resistance of sputtered oxide films: diagnostic by interferometric probing
1998
Abstract A pulsed laser technique, based on conventional laser acoustics testing, has been developed to define the spall resistance of sputtered oxide films on a metallic target. Direct irradiation of the coated side of the sample generates an acoustic source at the inner film–metal interface. A model of the laser-induced epicentral displacements at the opposite side that takes into account the confining effect of the coating has been proposed to evaluate the critical laser irradiance corresponding to progressive damages at the inner film–metal interface, i.e. interface delamination, film spallation and film expulsion, respectively. The behavior of Al 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 films deposited by PVD …
