Abstract In this paper possibilities and limits of use of solar energy (like the best efficiencies of PV cells, world records and ‘notable exceptions’) were shown. Abstract Long-term studies on thermoelectric generators based on N-type magnesium silicide (Mg2.01Si0.49Sn0.5Sb0.01) and P-type higher manganese silicide (Mn0.98Mo0.02Si1.73Ge0.02) materials are presented, in the operating temperature range of 200 °C–400 °C. Emphasis is put on the performance and reliability of the current collector configuration, especially on the hot side of the module, and on the thermomechanical stresses that are created during operation and lifetime testing as a result of large temperature gradients experienced across the thermoelectric legs. Con este trabajo pretendemos presentar nuestro procedimiento de digitalización de información de campo (gestión de datos) y su imbricación en la reconstrucción estratigráfica virtual (virtualización) de la Cueva de la Cocina (Dos Aguas, Valencia, España). La herramienta principal para la implementación del Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) ha sido OpenJUMP, mientras que para la recreación tridimensional (3D) del entorno virtual de la cueva se han utilizado MeshLab, ParaView, CloudCompare y R. The development of light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) has greatly expanded the experimental capabilities in many biological and biomedical research fields, enabling for example live studies of murine and zebrafish neural activity or of cell growth and division. We report studies of the effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the optical properties of a low-loss 1.3 mum saturable Bragg reflector (SBR), consisting of a GaInNAs/GaAs single quantum well embedded in an AlAs/GaAs Bragg reflector grown monolithically on a GaAs substrate. RTA gives rise to a blueshift of the photoluminescence (PL) peak (and therefore of the excitonic absorption peak) and an enhancement of PL intensity, while the reflectivity properties including peak reflectivity and bandwidth are not degraded. This article seeks to contribute to the current debate on the new definition of the “museum” – a debate which led to turmoil at the 2019 ICOM General Assembly in Kyoto.
