This article focuses on the place that proper names originating from rock, or popular music in general, take or could take in dictionaries of proper names. It starts with an overview of onomástica published thus far, revealing a limited interest of Polish researchers in proper nouns related to this form of artistic activity. This discovery prompted the author to share his suggestions regarding such an onomasticon, or even onomástica, where names from popular music and specific categories would take a central place. Conditions are proposed which such a dictionary can or must meet based on the categories used in lexicography such as macro-, micro-, media- and megastructure. The final section …

The aim of the article is to show how to list and develop phraseology in the oldest Polish dialect dictionary: A Dictionary of Polish Dialects by Jan Karłowicz, and then discuss the placement of phraseology in the macro- and microstructure of later, 20th century selected dialectal dictionaries. Therefore, the article is an overview of the tradition of lexical development and study of phraseology in dialectal dictionaries (on the example of Silesian Dialect Dictionary, Polish Dialects Dictionary by Polish Academy of Sciences, the dictionary of Bernard Sychta, Dictionary of Ostróda, Warmia and Mazury Dialects).

The aim of this article is to research the ways of developing phraseology and its emplacement into the macro- and microstructure in selected dialectal dictionaries (academic and popular). The first part is an overview of the phraseology, as included in introductions to the dictionaries. In the second part, using specific examples, the author discusses how the methodological and editorial assumptions adopted by dictionary authors/editors are followed in practice. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi wprowadzenie do pracy doktorskiej pod tym samym tytułem. Autor przybliża czytelnikowi pojęcie wielotekstu, a także dwutekstu (czyli szczególnego typu wielotekstu), prezentuje taksonomię par „oryginał + przekład” oraz przytacza konkretne egzemplifikacje. Przeglądu dokonuje, odnosząc się do pewnych założeń teoretycznych, np. właściwości strukturalnych tekstu, gatunkowości tekstu, nacechowania stylistycznego oraz funkcji, jakie dany tekst pełni w przestrzeni komunikacyjnej. This paper looks at the rich, and largely unexplored, correspondence of Jan Józef Baranowski, an insurgent in the November Uprising, a refugee in France and England, an accomplished inventor and the author of a two-volume bilingual dictionary (Anglo-Polish lexicon, 1883; Słownik polsko-angielski, 1884). Baranowski’s letters, primarily those addressed to Leonard Niedźwiedzki, allow one to investigate both his lexicographic conceptions and working methods. As it has turned out, the design of his dictionary was innovative, but Baranowski had experience neither in lexicography nor foreign language teaching. Stanowi on swego rodzaju przegląd pięciu dotychczas opublikowanych tomów, przy czym planowana jest kontynuacja serii.
