This thesis focuses on the design of innovative friction damper devices for earthquake-resilient Reinforced Concrete (RC) frames realized with Hybrid Steel-Trussed Concrete Beams (HSTCBs). These devices fall within the framework of the recently-proposed low-damage design strategy for structures built in earthquake-prone areas, on the basis of which the structures are designed to experience negligible damage when subjected to seismic events. Kvalifikācijas darba ietvaros tika veikta nebanku aizdevēja klientu portāla lietotāju saskarnes pārrakstīšana, saglabājot esošo funkcionalitāti. Izstrādātais portāls ļauj klientiem apskatīt detaļas par esošajiem aizdevumiem, maksājumiem; filtrēt datus pēc dažādiem kritērijiem; augšupielādēt dokumentus portālā. Portāla saskarne tika pārrakstīta Angular vidē, aizvietojot esošo Wicket saskarni. Šī darba mērķi: • padarīt portālu dinamiskāku un lietotājam draudzīgāku, izmantojot asinhronu datu iegūšanas pieeju; • atvieglot portāla uzturēšanu, izmantojot populārāku tehnoloģiju ar izsmeļošāku un vieglāk uztveramu dokumentāciju.

Parental stress and resilience in autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome

The aim of this study was to compare parental stress and resilience in parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome (DS), and typical development (TD), and analyze the relationship between these two constructs. A total of 97 parents participated (ASD: n = 32, DS: n = 23, and TD: n = 42). The instruments used were the Parental Stress Index and the Resilience Scale. The ASD group obtained higher parental stress related to the child’s characteristics but not related to the parents’ characteristics. The paper presents a hydro-economic model of the Apulian water resources system, in southern Italy, i.e. a mathematical programming model of the allocations explicitly accounting for the different values of water and for hydrological variability at the appropriate time scale. Traditionally a water-scarce region, Apulia is now supplied by extra-regional regulated surface resources as well as by a coastal aquifer; altogether, they constitute a multipurpose system with conflicting uses: municipal, irrigation and, to a lesser extent, industrial supply. Background Approximately, 13.5% of the population suffers from chronic itch. Many cosmetic and pharmaceutical treatments for itch are available; however, cosmetic treatments are not reliably effective and most pharmaceutical formulations carry the risk of adverse events with chronic use. Aims Previously, we have reported a novel extraction process of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, that is, Baker's yeast. The extract obtained from the novel process demonstrates superior anti-itch properties compared to other yeast extracts. Kopā kopš 2004. gada Latvijā ir atjaunoti vairāk nekā 7000 ha dabisko zālāju. Lielākā daļa no tiem atjaunoti dažādu projektu ietvaros. Bakalaura darbā skaidrots atjaunoto Dvietes palienes zālāju stāvoklis, inventarizējot zālājus dabā un veicot intervijas ar zālāju īpašniekiem. Pētījuma rezultātā noskaidrots, ka zālāju atjaunošanās Dvietes palienē norit veiksmīgi. Atslēgas vārdi: palieņu zālāji, Dvietes paliene, inventarizācija, intervijas, pašreizējais stāvoklis.

Energy consumption in the building sector is responsible for 36% of the energy use worldwide (corresponding to 39% of the total energy-related CO2 emissions), while at the European level the building sector accounts for a share of the total energy consumption comprised between 25% and 40% (corresponding to about 35% of the overall CO2 emissions throughout Europe).
