A fluorinated 2D magnetic coordination polymer

2021

Herein we show the versatility of coordination chemistry to design and expand a family of 2D materials by incorporating F groups at the surface of the layers. Through the use of a prefuntionalized organic linker with F groups, it is possible to achieve a layered magnetic material based on Fe(ii) centers that are chemically stable in open air, contrary to the known 2D inorganic magnetic materials. The high quality of the single crystals and their robustness allow to fabricate 2D molecular materials by micromechanical exfoliation, preserving the crystalline nature of these layers together with the desired functionalization.

Effect of an organoclay on the photochemical transformations of a PBAT/PLA blend and morpho-chemical features of crosslinked networks

2021

Abstract In this work, we report the effect of an organoclay on the photochemical weathering of nanocomposites based on a poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT)/poly(lactic acid) (PLA) blend. The evolution of physicochemical properties was monitored by integrating spectroscopic, mechanical, and morphological analyses. A robust relationship was found between the molecular transformations of the polymer macromolecules and the morpho-mechanical properties of irradiated films. Moreover, the analysis of insoluble fractions extracted from nanocomposites pointed out that free-standing, porous structures, displaying an unprecedented thickness as great as 100 µm, were formed, thus unambiguou…

Photoaffinity cross-linking of F1ATPase from the thermophilic bacterium PS3 by 3′-arylazido-β-alanyl-2-azido ATP

1989

AbstractThe photoactivatable bifunctional 3′-arylazido-β-alanyl-2-azido ATP (2,3′-DiN3ATP) has been applied to study the localization of the nucleotide-binding sites of coupling factor 1 (F1ATPase, TF1) from the thermophilic bacterium PS3 by photoaffinity cross-linking. UV irradiation of TF1 in the presence of 2,3′-DiN3ATP results in the nucleotide-dependent formation of various higher molecular mass cross-links formed by two, three or even four α- and/or β-subunits. The differences observed upon photoaffinity cross-linking by the bifunctional 2-azido ATP or 8-azido ATP analog are discussed. They are probably due to the varied maximal distance between both azido groups, or to the different …

pH-sensitive hydrogel based on a novel photocross-linkable copolymer.

2004

A pH sensitive hydrogel has been prepared by a UV irradiation technique. Starting polymer was the PHM (poly hydroxyethylaspartamide methacrylated) obtained from polyaspartamide (PHEA) partially derivatized with methacrylic anhydride (MA). This new copolymer has been further derivatized with succinic anhydride (SA) to obtain PHM-SA that has been cross-linked by UV irradiation to form a pH sensitive hydrogel. The network, recovered after washing as a powder, has been been characterized by FT-IR spectrophotometry and particle size distribution analysis. Moreover, to have information about water affinity of the prepared sample, swelling measurements have been carried out in aqueous media mimick…

d-Glucose as a multivalent chiral scaffold for combinatorial chemistry

2002

Due to their high density of functional groups and their availability in a variety of diastereomeric forms, monosaccharides are considered attractive scaffolds for combinatorial chemistry that allow the attachment and defined spatial alignment of up to five different pharmacophoric groups. For their application in combinatorial syntheses on solid phase, a set of selectively removable hydroxy protecting groups in combination with a cleavable anchor is required. Herein, we report on the construction and use of a versatile multivalent glucose building block for parallel synthesis on the solid phase.

The influence of the mode of synthesis on the characteristics of crosslinked polymers is examined for crosslinked copolymer…

Carbohydrates as Polyfunctional Scaffolds in Combinatorial Synthesis

2006

Carbohydrates are inexpensive, polyfunctional molecules which contain a high density of stereogenic centers. Taking advantage of these particular properties monosaccharides like glucose or mannose have been used for the construction of peptidomimetics which simulate recognition sites of somatostatin or RGD ligands of integrins. Due to their poly functionality, carbohydrates are considered promising scaffolds for combinatorial syntheses either in solution or on solid phase. The application of carbohydrate scaffolds, however, requires sets of orthogonally stable, selectively removable protecting groups, and the challenge in this combinatorial strategy increases with increasing number of hydro…

Control of end-of-life oxygen-containing groups accumulation in biopolyesters through introduction of crosslinked polysaccharide particles

2021

The formulation of bio-based materials with good performance in service and controlled end-of-life is imperative for an effective circular economy. In this work, an innovative approach to induce and control the end-of-life of biodegradable polyesters through introduction of crosslinked polysaccharide particles is proposed. Chitosan (Ch) has been subjected to ionotropically crosslinking and then added to polylactic acid (PLA) at different amounts (1.0–4.0%w) by melt mixing. All obtained results suggest that the addition of crosslinked Ch (cCh) particles does not modify significantly the investigated biopolyester properties. Specifically, the thermal analysis of the composites reveals that th…

ChemInform Abstract: 1,2,3-Triazole in Heterocyclic Compounds, Endowed with Biological Activity, Through 1,3-Dipolar Cycloadditions

2014

1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions can be considered a powerful synthetic tool in the building of heterocyclic rings, with applications in different fields. In this review we focus on the synthesis of biologically active compounds possessing the 1,2,3-triazole core through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions. The 1,2,3-triazole skeleton can be present as a single disubstituted ring, as a linker between two molecules, or embedded in a polyheterocycle. The cycloaddition reactions are usually catalysed by copper or ruthenium. Domino reactions can be achieved through dipolarophile anion formation, generally followed by cyclisation. The variety of attainable heterocyclic structures gives an ill…
