Lejtmotyw miłosierdzia Bożego jest obecny w kulturze muzycznej wszystkich epok, od czasów średniowiecza, gdzie był obecny w śpiewach gregoriańskich, aż po czasy współczesne. Fundamentem śpiewów, powstałych na przestrzeni wieków, były najczęściej teksty biblijne sławiące tajemnicę miłosierdzia Bożego i Bożej łaskawości. Sposób wyrażenia lejtmotywu miłosierdzia Bożego zależał od zespolenia warstwy tekstu ze współczynnikami muzycznego stylu danej epoki, a także od duchowości i oblicza mistyki danej epoki. Chociaż liturgia Kościoła w każdej z tradycji liturgicznych posiada własne cechy charakterystyczne będące wynikiem odrębnej ewolucji oraz różnego rozłożenia akcentów teologicznych i celebracyjnych, to w swojej istocie jest jedną i tą samą liturgią jednego Kościoła. W punkcie wyjścia niniejszego studium ukazano elementy różniące poszczególne ryty w Kościele, a następnie te, które składają się na wspólny genotyp wszystkich wspólnot. Wśród nich szczególną uwagę zwrócono na liturgię żydowską, głoszenie kerygmatu, życie sakramentalne, wspólną geografię początków, euchologię wraz z ukrytym w niej lex orandi oraz strukturę Modlitwy Eucharystycznej.

In Medieval Silesia there were two convents o f the Canons Regular: in Wrocław and in Żagań. Their mother-monastery was the abbey in Arrovaise (Flanders). As every order, the Canons Regular had theirs own liturgical customs, in this case borrowed from Arrovai.se. These customs were practised in Silesia at least until the second h alf o f the 14th century, when they started to resemble m ore and m ore the diocesans practices. From 1338 onwards, the inhabitants of late-medieval Valencia celebrated a feast every 9 October commemorating the entrance into the city of King James I’s forces on that day in 1238. It has been argued that this was essentially a spiritual display from its establishment in 1338 until the beginning of the fifteenth century. The present study delves deeper into the religious and political aims of the feast from its origins, framing the celebration within a broader Mediterranean context. The introduced restrictions on the number of the faithful who can participate in the parish liturgy and in some countries even the complete closure of places of worship, resulted in a new perception of the role of media broadcasts of the Eucharist. This is the first thorough study of a text occurring in two Anglo-Saxon manuscripts. The Latin source of the Old English text preserved in mss. London, BL, Stowe 944 and London, BL, Egerton 3314, fols. 9-72 + Cotton Caligula A xv, fols. 120-53 (Cameron B.12.10) was unknown. The essay provides evidence for the OE text being a translation of a Latin text on liturgical questions. This discovery allows understanding the very nature of the OE work, fosters its correct classification and provides a rationale for its collocation in the two Anglo-Saxon mss.
