A new Co(II) coordination solid with mixed oxygen, carboxylate, pyridine and thiolate donors exhibiting canted antiferromagnetism with TC ≈ K
2006
Reaction of Co(II) chloride with the sodium salt of 2-mercaptonicotinic acid in water at 200 ºC results in the formation of Co4(2-mna)4(H2O), which orders as a canted antiferromagnet at 68 K. Gomez Garcia, Carlos Jose, Carlos.Gomez@uv.es
Heat shock and Cd2+ exposure regulate PML and Daxx release from ND10 by independent mechanisms that modify the induction of heat-shock proteins 70 an…
2003
Nuclear domains called ND10 or PML bodies might function as nuclear depots by recruiting or releasing certain proteins. Although recruitment of proteins through interferon-induced upregulation and SUMO-1 modification level of PML had been defined, it is not known whether release of proteins is regulated and has physiological consequences. Exposure to sublethal environmental stress revealed a sequential release of ND10-associated proteins. Upon heat shock Daxx and Sp100 were released but PML remained, whereas exposure to subtoxic concentrations of CdCl2 induced the release of ND10-associated proteins, including PML, with Sp100 remaining in a few sites. In both cases, recovery times were simil…

Mode of interaction of different polyanions with the first (), the second (C2) and the fourth (C4) component of complement—II
1976
Abstract Dextran sulfate, polyvinyl sulfate, liquoid, heparin and Sp 54, ∗ (a pentosanpoly-sulfoester) prevented the uptake of C2 by EAC4b. In contrast to EAC 4 b 2 a , treatment of EAC4b2 with polyanions led to dissociation into EAC4b and C2. The inhibition of C2 uptake by polyanions could be reduced by increasing magnesium concentration to levels which are normally inhibitory, suggesting that Mg ++ ions are sequestered by these sulfated polyanions.
Dynamic-shared Pharmacophore Approach as Tool to Design New Allosteric PRC2 Inhibitors, Targeting EED Binding Pocket.
2020
Abstract: The Polycomb Repressive complex 2 (PRC2) maintains a repressive chromatin state and silences many genes, acting as methylase on histone tails. This enzyme was found overexpressed in many types of cancer. In this work, we have set up a Computer-Aided Drug Design approach based on the allosteric modulation of PRC2. In order to minimize the possible bias derived from using a single set of coordinates within the protein-ligand complex, a dynamic workflow was developed. In details, molecular dynamic was used as tool to identify the most significant ligand-protein interactions from several crystallized protein structures. The identified features were used for the creation of dynamic pha…

Imaging and force transduction in correlative scanning force and confocal fluorescence microscopy
2018
Correlative scanning force and confocal fluorescence microscopy has been used to study individual molecules, nanoparticles and nanoparticle oligomers. By applying a compressive force via the AFM cantilever, spectral blue and red shifts in the range of several meV/GPa have been observed for single dye molecules and semiconductor quantum dots. Moreover, individual Au nanoparticle dimers linked by a chlorophyll binding protein have been imaged in both modes and plasmonic fluorescence enhancement of the chlorophyll emission of up to a factor of 15 has been found.

How common are inclusive educational practices among Finnish teachers?
2017
Several instructional strategies have been recommended for use in heterogeneous classrooms, but the frequency of their actual use has remained largely unknown. Therefore, an electronic survey was sent to Finnish comprehensive school teachers (N = 2276) in order to assess the prevalence of three selected inclusive strategies: co-teaching, group work, and differentiation. The results showed that co-teaching was used by 42% and group work by 43% of the teachers at least on a weekly basis, while differentiation was used regularly by 83% of teachers. The application of all strategies was strongly associated with teacher category, with subject teachers using them less frequently than classroom te…
