GRASP & evolutionary path relinking for medical image registration based on point matching

2010

Image registration is a very active research area in computer vision. Image registration methods, aim to find a transformation between two images taken under different conditions. Point matching is an image registration approach based on searching for the right pairing of points between the two images. From this matching, the registration transformation can be inferred by means of numerical methods. In this paper, we tackle the medical image registration problem adapting a new advanced hybrid metaheuristic composed by the GRASP and the evolutionary path relinking algorithms, called G&EvPR. The experiments conducted in this work have shown the good performance of G&EvPR compared to similar a…

Design of Gelatin Pouches for the Preservation of Flaxseed Oil during Storage

2020

Flaxseed oil (FO) is composed mainly of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are very sensitive to oxidation induced by oxygen, temperature, and light. To overcome this problem, gelatin-based films containing glucose are crosslinked via the Maillard reaction (MR) at 120 &deg

Adaptive surface compression with geometric wavelets.

2008

The recent advances in computer graphics and digitization allow access to an ever finer three-dimensional modelling of the world. The critical challenges with 3D models lie in their transmission and rendering, which must fit the heterogeneity of the end resources (network bandwidth, display terminals . . . ). In this context, this thesis investigates the progressive compression and transmission of 3D models, based on multiresolution analysis, to provide a scalable representation of these geometric models. This work is part of "CoSurf", a collaborative research project involving LIRIS laboratory and France Télécom R&D in Rennes. The proposed hierarchical compression method is based on a wave…

High-speed, low-complexity fir filter using multiplier block reduction and polyphase decomposition

2005

In this paper we discuss the design and implementation of a highspeed FIR filter for both interpolation and decimation of the sample frequency. Several FIR filter structures are compared and various schemes for simplifying the implementation of the multiplications are evaluated. Carry-save adders with carryoverflow correction are used in the implementation. The results in terms of chip area and power consumption are compared using a standard 0.8 pm 3.3 V CMOS process.

Testing Equality of Multiple Power Spectral Density Matrices

2018

This paper studies the existence of optimal invariant detectors for determining whether P multivariate processes have the same power spectral density. This problem finds application in multiple fields, including physical layer security and cognitive radio. For Gaussian observations, we prove that the optimal invariant detector, i.e., the uniformly most powerful invariant test, does not exist. Additionally, we consider the challenging case of close hypotheses, where we study the existence of the locally most powerful invariant test (LMPIT). The LMPIT is obtained in the closed form only for univariate signals. In the multivariate case, it is shown that the LMPIT does not exist. However, the c…

Theory-based digital intervention to promote weight loss and weight loss maintenance (Choosing Health)

2020

IntroductionDigital behavioural weight loss interventions have the potential to improve public health; however, these interventions are often not adequately tailored to the needs of the participants. This is the protocol for a trial that aims to determine the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the Choosing Health programme as a means to promote weight loss and weight loss maintenance among overweight/obese adults. Methods and analysisThe proposed study is a two-group randomised controlled trial with a nested interrupted time series (ITS) within-person design. Participants (n=285) will be randomly assigned to either the Choosing Health digital intervention or a control group. For interve…

Formation of fumonisin B(1)-glucose reaction product, in vitro cytotoxicity, and lipid peroxidation on kidney cells.

2010

Fumonisin B(1) (FB(1)) content in corn products decreases during the heating process in foods containing reducing sugars, mainly because of the formation of N-(carboxymethyl)fumonisin B(1). In this study, a rapid method has been developed for the determination of both compounds in corn products using a high-speed blender, Ultra-Turrax, for solvent extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The kinetics of FB(1) degradation and the formation of the Maillard adduct were studied in a model system constituted by corn bread spiked with FB(1) and heated at 160, 180, and 200 degrees C for 3, 6, 10, 15, and 20 min. FB(1) decreased from 0.96 to 0.3 mg/kg and N-(carboxymethyl)fumo…

The Constitutional Court ruled on the issue of notifications by certified email to the public prosecutor. The Court declared inadmissible the question related to Article 153 c.p.p. (in so far as it does not allow them), although it found a disparity between the parties. The decision raises reflections relati…

Single-Event Effects in the Peripheral Circuitry of a Commercial Ferroelectric Random Access Memory

2018

International audience; This paper identifies the failure modes of a commercial 130-nm ferroelectric random access memory. The devices were irradiated with heavy-ion and pulsed focused X-ray beams. Various failure modes are observed, which generate characteristic error patterns, affecting isolated bits, words, groups of pages, and sometimes entire regions of the memory array. The underlying mechanisms are discussed.
