Predictors of long-term outcomes in patients undergoing periodontal maintenance

Abstract Aim This retrospective study aimed to characterize the baseline status of patients following periodontal maintenance, analysing the association between the long‐term outcome of these patients, smoking, bruxism, and the main clinical and radiographic variables. Material and methods A sample of 174 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis was refined into homogeneous subsamples according to smoking and bruxism and the rate of tooth loss due to periodontal disease (TLPD): 0, 1–2, and >2 teeth. Dependence of effective properties upon regular perturbations

In this survey, we present some results on the behavior of effective properties in presence of perturbations of the geometric and physical parameters. We first consider the case of a Newtonian fluid flowing at low Reynolds numbers around a periodic array of cylinders. We show the results of [43], where it is proven that the average longitudinal flow depends real analytically upon perturbations of the periodicity structure and the cross section of the cylinders. Next, we turn to the effective conductivity of a periodic two-phase composite with ideal contact at the interface. Introduction The standard low-phosphorus diet restricts pulses, nuts, and whole grains and other high phosphorus foods to control hyperphosphatemia. We conducted a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of the modified diet, which introduced some pulses and nuts, increased the use of whole grains, increased focus on the avoidance of phosphate additives, and introduced the prescription of low-biological-value protein such as bread. Platformed Interactions: How Social Media Platforms Relate to Candidate–Constituent Interaction During Finnish 2015 Election Campaigning

Interaction between candidates and constituents via social media is a well-studied domain. The article takes this research further through a synthesis with platform studies, emerging scholarship that applies a critical perspective to the role of digital platforms in society. Examination of candidate–constituent interaction via Twitter and Facebook during the 2015 Finnish parliamentary elections revealed that the types of interaction differ between the two platforms: Facebook was used for formal campaigning and for praising and expressing support, while Twitter was utilized for information and for seeking and sharing opinions.
