In the title compound, C14H16N6O2, the dihedral angles formed by the mean plane of the acetohydrazide group [maximum deviation 0.0629 (12) A] with the pyrazole and pyridine rings are 81.62 (6) and 38.38 (4)° respectively. In the crystal, molecules are connected by N—H⋯O and O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds into supramolecular chains extending parallel to the c-axis direction.

The geometries of the thiazole ring and the nitramino groups in N-(3H-thiazol-2-ylidene)nitramine, C 3 H 3 N 3 O 2 S, (I), and N-methyl-N-(thiazol-2-yl)nitramine, C 4 H 5 N 3 O 2 S, (II), are very similar. The nitramine group in (II) is planar and twisted along the C-N bond with respect to the thiazole ring. In both structures, the asymmetric unit includes two practically equal molecules. In (I), the molecules are arranged in layers connected to each other by N-H...N and much weaker C-H...O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure of (II), the molecules are arranged in layers bound to each other by both weak C-H...O hydrogen bonds and S...O dipolar interactions.

Pyrrolo[3,2-c]cinnoline derivatives were obtained by an unusual Japp-Klingemann reaction involving an intramolecular azadehalogenation on the pyrrole nucleus. Such an azadehalogenation represents the first example of Japp-Klingemann reaction in which the extrusion of positive chlorine ion is verified.

Abstract Primary amines with an optical active ligand add to vinyl- and propenylphosphonium salts according the reaction schemes (5) and (6), forming compounds of the type E and F. F contains a new asymmetric center in the bridge giving rise to the formation of a mixture of diastereomers, which can be resolved. Phosphonium salts of type E and F with a benzyl group on the phosphonium center are cleaved reductively by alkali amalgams (Li/Hg; Na/Hg; K/Hg) forming tertiary phosphines with an aminogroup in the β-position. Abstract The favourable effect of lithium bromide enhancing the facial enantioselectivity in the protonation of methyl tetralone enolate with α-sulfinyl alcohols is described. Theoretical calculations allow to propose a model to explain the stereochemical course of the protonation reaction.

Reaction of the title imines with diphenyldiazomethane gives a Δ3-1,3,4-triazoline, which leads, after loss of dinitrogen, to a transient azomethine ylide. Subsequent elimination of ethyl or methyl chloroformate gives the unexpected 1,1-diphenyl-4,4-dichloro-2-aza-1,3-butadiene.
