Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant (2015) constitutes an interesting contemporary reworking of the motif of melancholy. In the universe of the book – a combination of Arthurian setting with the elements of fantasy – people experience the peculiar state of melancholic oblivion brought upon them by the mysterious fog. Although this fog enables a peaceful coexistence of previous enemies, it also causes the feelings of overwhelming uneasiness and unidentified menace. Emigrācija liek cilvēkiem veidot valsts tēlu, balstoties atmiņās, un daudz pētnieku ir pētījuši valstu tēlus, kas izpausti literatūrā. Darba mērķis ir noteikt semantiskās makrostruktūras, kas veido Latvijas tēlu I. Vērzemnieces memuārā, un noskaidrot, kā noteiktās makrostruktūras veicina dzimtenes tēla veidošanos, kas iedibināta žanrā. Darba pētnieciskā daļa tika veikta, pielietojot semantisko makroanalīzi un atslēgvārdu analīzi. Abas pētījuma metodes sniedza līdzīgus rezultātus un ļāva secināt, ka sintezētais Latvijas tēls balstās uz izturīgiem un apņēmīgiem cilvēkiem, kas pārvarējuši neticamas grūtības, paļaujoties uz sevi un dabu, gūstot spēku no savām kultūras vērtībām, kas sevī iekļauj…

espanolAntecedentes: estudios previos han destacado que la naturaleza emocional de los estimulos y el nivel de actividad de ciertas estructuras cerebrales responsables de la regulacion de la actividad autonoma condicionan la codificacion y el recuerdo posterior. Asi pues, este estudio piloto tiene como objetivo principal explorar la relacion entre los patrones de actividad autonoma y del recuerdo de material emocional. Metodo: se registro la frecuencia cardiaca de forma continua en un total de 27 hombres y mujeres de entre 18 y 29 anos de edad mientras eran expuestos a estimulos emocionales. Resumen Durante la Guerra Civil española (1936-1939) unos 5000 niños y niñas tuvieron que marchar al exilio, encontrando en Bélgica un nuevo hogar de acogida temporal. Al finalizar el conflicto bélico, la mayoría de ellos fueron repatriados y regresaron junto a sus familias o a centros benéfico-paternalistas franquistas. Alrededor de un millar no regresaron por diferentes motivos. Este artículo recoge el testimonio de una decena de estos “niños” hispano-belgas y sus familiares, acudiendo a la historia oral y a la memoria, para recuperar una parte de la historia de la educación y la infancia.
