Lejtmotyw miłosierdzia Bożego jest obecny w kulturze muzycznej wszystkich epok, od czasów średniowiecza, gdzie był obecny w śpiewach gregoriańskich, aż po czasy współczesne. Pope Francis in the bull Misericordiae vultus encouraged to reflect on the meaning of God’s mercy in human history and the practice of Christian charity in life. According to the papal encouragement this article reflects on the content of the notion of God’s mercy. It focuses on these aspects which proved to be essential in the papal bull. The analyses performed are made from a theological perspective; they are therefore an attempt of interpretation, justification, and systematization of the content of the papal statements about mercy. In Lukes text (6:36-38) the reference of the judgement occurs in the conversion context of Gods charity(mercy).This motive is referred to the relation man-man and deals with judging others. Passing judgements on other peoples behaviour is an eschatological consequence as the same will be done by God after mans death. If people imitate Gods charity (mercy) in the relationship to other people they can accept it that God will treat them charitable. The verb Kptnc has a charity (mercy) aspect in this relation. Charity (mercy) may be defined as mans priority in this ethical behaviour.

The aim of this paper is to present the main sources of the interpretative dispute about the message contained in the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis Amoris laetitia (2016), on love in the family. Referring to the position of the “Dubia Cardinals”, it concerns primarily four issues, which we can name as the “most-discussed”, i.e. (1) Holy Communion for the divorced and remarried people; (2) Creative conscience and absolute moral prohibitions; (3) The law of gradualness; (4) The concept of mercy.
