Mākslas skolās ir dizaina priekšmets, bet tajā nav ietverts modes dizains. Šobrīd mākslas skolas skolēns netiek iepazīstināts ar modes dizainu un attiecīgi tas rada satuāciju, ka mākslas skolas audzēknim var nebūt pietiekošs priekštats par modes dizainu, lai varētu pieņemt mērķticīgu lēmumu pietiekamas intereses gadījumā izvēlēties studēt modes dizainu kādā no profesionālās ievirzes mācību iestādēm. Attiecīgi pētnieciskā darba mērķis ir izpētīt modes dizaina kā mācību tēmas apguvi mākslas skolas 7.kursā, izstrādājot teorētiskos un praktiskos mācību uzdevumus šīs tēmas iepazīšanai, kā arī aprobēt tos praksē. Variation in the Sizes of Chthamalid Barnacle Post-Settlement Cyprids on European Shores

As part of a wider study on the settlement and recruitment of Chthamalus spp. in Europe, this study investigated whether chthamalid cyprids can be separated by length on a European scale. Variation in cyprid length with latitude and temporal variation at selected localities were also examined. The lengths of cyprids collected between 1996-1999 on nine rocky shores in Europe are reported. Elminius modestus cyprids were found only at Roscoff, NW France and could be distinguished due to their Carapace shape and length. Phase-delayed laser diode array allows ultrasonic guided wave mode selection and tuning

Selecting and tuning modes are useful in ultrasonic guided wave non-destructive testing (NDT) since certain modes at various center frequencies are sensitive to specific types of defects. Ideally one should be able to select both the mode and the center frequency of the launched waves. We demonstrated that an affordable laser diode array can selectively launch either the S0 or A0 ultrasonic wave mode at a chosen center frequency into a polymer plate. Direct observation of the Ba 114 → Xe 110 → Te 106 → Sn 102 triple α -decay chain using position and time correlations

The triple α-decay chain 114Ba → 110Xe → 106Te → 102Sn has been directly observed for the first time, following the 58Ni(58Ni ,2n) reaction. Implantation of 114Ba nuclei into a double-sided silicon-strip detector has allowed their α decays to be correlated in position and time with the α decays of the daughter (110Xe) and granddaughter (106Te) nuclei. In total, 17 events have been assigned to the 114Ba → 110Xe → 106Te → 102Sn triple α-decay chain. The energy of the 114Ba α decay has been measured to be Eα = 3480(20) keV, which is 70 keV higher than the previously measured value, and the half-life of 114Ba has been measured with improved accuracy, to be 380+190 −110 ms.
