Controlled polyhedral sweeping processes: existence, stability, and optimality conditions

2021

This paper is mainly devoted to the study of controlled sweeping processes with polyhedral moving sets in Hilbert spaces. Based on a detailed analysis of truncated Hausdorff distances between moving polyhedra, we derive new existence and uniqueness theorems for sweeping trajectories corresponding to various classes of control functions acting in moving sets. Then we establish quantitative stability results, which provide efficient estimates on the sweeping trajectory dependence on controls and initial values. Our final topic, accomplished in finite-dimensional state spaces, is deriving new necessary optimality and suboptimality conditions for sweeping control systems with endpoint constrain…

The present study aims to make an approximation to the concept of non-pecuniary damage in Spanish law because, unlike property …

Futuro profesional de los menores y ejercicio de la patria potestad

2021

The personal decision about the professional future of the minor, constitutes an aspect of the development of his free personality, and, like every decision that affects him, it must be adopted considering the principle of the best interests of the child. The parents, in the exercise of parental authority, have the legal representation of their minor children, except for the acts related to the personality rights, which can be carried out by the minor child himself if he is mature enough. When personality rights and economic rights converge, it is necessary to determine the role the parents play, which in the end will always have to be the protection and respect for their children?s rights.

Genesi geometrica delle volte centriche

1996

A comprehensive analysis of vaulted bodies involves the study of the multiple components necessary for their definition: geometric configuration construction system historical-geographical area of belonging interpretations Stylistic. The objective of this study is directed to the 'analysis of continuous vaults on a centric plan definable through the laws of Euclidean geometry. The investigation arises within the boundaries related to their geometric configuration and the criterion adopted freed from typological or stylistic classifications proposes the identification of geometric families based on the figure of the basic polygon of the plant. An ordering process can be identified to explain the compositional process of curved-roofed central plants: that is the elaboration of a series of theoretical models developed according to an abacus referring to the basic geometries of the triangle square and pentagon is possible. It is not intended to impose a classification but to propose a study tool that thanks to a few simple compositional rules develops a very large number of configurationthe question remains as to why only a part has been used for the realization of vaulted covered centric buildings but this presumes considerations of a historical formal and constructive nature extraneous to this discussion.Settore ICAR/17 - Disegno

Frequency and Characterization of Benign Lesions in Patients Undergoing Surgery for the Suspicion of Solid Pancreatic Neoplasm

2013

A diagnosis of benign lesions (BLs) is reported in 5% to 21% of pancreatoduodenectomies performed for neoplasms; no data for body-tail resections are available. The aims were to investigate the frequency and characterize the BLs mimicking cancer in the head and the body-tail of the pancreas. This study is a retrospective review of pancreatic specimenscollected from 2005 to 2011 in the pathology database of Mainz (Germany). Patients with final diagnosis excluding malignancy were analyzed by histology, imaging, and clinical aspects.Among 373 patients, 33 patients (8.8%) were diagnosed with a benign disease: 25 (8.4%) of 298 in the pancreatic head and 8 (10.7%) of 75 in the body-tail resections…

Impact of routine angiographic follow-up after angioplasty

1998

Abstract Background There is an ongoing controversy as to whether repeat coronary angiography should be routinely performed after successful percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Methods We examined the 10-year outcome in 400 patients who had or had not undergone an angiographic control 6 months after successful PTCA and a subsequent event-free 6-month period. Our comparison was based on data gathered by questionnaire and telephone interview in 315 patients with (group A) and 85 patients without (group B) a routine 6-month angiographic control. Multivariate analysis (Cox model) was performed to identify predictors of adverse events. Results During the 10-year follow-up peri…

Beyond sentinel node algorithm. Toward a more tailored surgery for cervical cancer patients

2016

none 12 Nowadays cervical cancer is frequently diagnosed at early stage. For these patients lymph node metastasis (LNM) is considered the most important prognostic factor. During the last decade many efforts have been made to reduce rate of complications associated with lymphadenectomy (LND). A great interest has arisen in sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy as a technique able to decrease number of LND performed and, at the same time, to assess lymph nodal status. High diagnostic performances have been reached thanks to SLN surgical algorithm. However, despite the efforts, about 25% of these patients undergo at least unilateral LND to meet NCCN recommendations. Data of women with Internationa…
