Locating the nodes of outdoor wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using (tri)lateration with a low-cost ranging technique, such as the received signal strength indicator (RSSI), often results in inaccurate location estimates. This can mostly be explained by the combined effect of distance estimate errors and localization geometry, both of which are subject to the reference nodes used. La chapelle Notre-Dame du Chemin est un site emblématique de la côte viticole, à environ 5 km au NE de Beaune, sur le territoire de la commune de Ladoix-Serrigny en Côte-d’Or. Le diagnostic archéologique réalisé au pied de l’actuel édifice s’est déroulé du 5 au 9 mars 2018. En dépit d’une emprise limitée au fuseau d’un futur réseau de drainage, l’opération a permis de documenter l’évolution de l’environnement de la chapelle depuis la fin du premier Moyen Âge jusqu’à nos jours. Fault diagnosis of induction motors broken rotor bars by pattern recognition based on noise cancelation

Current signal monitoring (CSM) can be used as an effective tool for diagnosing broken rotor bars fault in induction motors. In this paper, fault diagnosis and classification based on artificial neural networks (ANNs) is done in two stages. In the first stage, a filter is designed to remove irrelevant fault components (such as noise) of current signals. The coefficients of the filter are obtained by least square (LS) algorithm. Then by extracting suitable time domain features from filter's output, a neural network is trained for fault classification. Definition of Water Meter Substitution Plans based on a Composite Indicator

This paper presents a water meter substitution plan based on a composite "Replacement indicator" which was defined and compared with common substitution strategies based on meter age and on run-to-fail approaches. The methodology was applied to one of the 17 sub-networks in which the Palermo city water distribution network (Italy) is divided. The analysis was carried out considering a substitution budget limitation and the results showed that the use of "Replacement indicator" outperform the classical substitution strategies based on meter age because it takes into account some other variables that may affect meter precision and wearing. Tensions and resilience: the experiences of adult foster-care workers in Finland

This article examines adult foster care for older people in Finland. This is a semi-formal service in which older people are cared for by foster carers who are remunerated for their work by the local municipality. In the article, the tensions and resources of resilience of foster-care work are analysed. The data consist of 12 thematic interviews with foster carers. The results suggest that foster-care work is emotionally draining and has adverse effects on social relationships. However, foster carers see caring as purposeful, they see themselves as professionals and they have enough social resources.
