“If I knew, I will not come”: strategic insight on the simultaneous launch of the two Guerre des BoutonsThe purpose of this paper is to propose an insight on an unusual strategic situation in the movie industry: thesimultaneous launch on screens of two almost identical movies, La Guerre des Boutons. After recalling the stakesattached to the product launch in the film industry, a monograph devoted to this direct confrontation, supplementedby an analysis of the critics of spectators, is proposed. This analysis reveals determinants (the conflictand lack of control in the film industry) and consequences (sub-optimal strategy) of the temporal agglomeration.

Wielu badaczy wskazuje transfer nazw własnych jako jedną z trudności przekładu. Niniejsza praca dotyczy translacji imion w dwudziestu jeden przekładach baśni Rumpelstilzchen spod pióra braci Grimm. Analizie zostały poddane angielskie, brazylijskie, polskie, tureckie oraz japońskie wydania baśni napisanej pierwotnie w języku niemieckim. Praca skupia się na analizie prawdziwego imienia tytułowego skrzata oraz imion wymienianych przez baśniową królową. Artykuł zawiera pięć analiz opisujących onomastyczne aspekty przekładu oraz zastosowane techniki tłumaczeniowe. BACKGROUND: In secondary data there are often unstructured free texts. The aim of this study was to validate a text mining system to extract unstructured medical data for research purposes. METHODS: From a radiological department, 1,000 out of 7,102 CT findings were randomly selected. These were manually divided into defined groups by 2 physicians. For automated tagging and reporting, the text analysis software Averbis Extraction Platform (AEP) was used. Abstract LDOCE uses a defining vocabulary to make their definitions intelligible to the user. Critics claim this policy may result in imprecise definitions, something especially noticeable in certain concrete and abstract words that are difficult to define by a definition only. This paper examines to what extent LDOCE definitions of such words help learners identify the objects and words being defined. Daugavpils (Latvia) and Narva (Estonia) are cities in the Baltic States and signifi cant cultural and economic centres of their respective countries. The inference of causality is a crucial cognitive ability and language processing is no exception: recent research suggests that, across different languages, the human language comprehension system attempts to identify the primary causer of the state of affairs described (the “actor”) quickly and unambiguously (Bornkessel-Schlesewsky and Schlesewsky, 2009). This identification can take place verb-independently based on certain prominence cues (e.g., case, word order, animacy). Stereoselective syntheses of the delta-lactone of (2Z,5S,7R,9S,11S)-tetrahydroxyhexacos-2-enoic acid, the structure reported for passifloricin A, and of its (5R)-epimer are described. The creation of all stereogenic centers relied upon Brown's asymmetric allylation methodology. The lactone ring was created via ring-closing metathesis. The NMR data of both synthetic products, however, were different from those of the natural product. The published structure of passifloricin A is thus erroneous and will require further synthetic work to be unambiguously assigned. [structure: see text]

Pronominal anaphores can create ambiguities when requesting the correct antecedent. In a context of automation of linguistic and textual processing, several researchers in the field of automatic language processing (TAL) have put in place various approaches to solve the problem.
