Questions Agricultural intensification has led to the decline of biodiverse meadows and other semi-natural grasslands. Road verges offer potential alternative habitats for meadow species, but they may not be suitable for all meadow species due to different soil properties, frequent disturbances, pollution or suboptimal management. Are the communities of vascular plants and bryophytes similar or dissimilar to those in mown or grazed meadows? What kind of species are associated with road verges, mown meadows or grazed meadows? Recently, it has been hypothesised that as learning performance and animal personality vary along a common axis of fast and slow types, natural selection may act on both in parallel leading to a correlation between learning and personality traits. We examined the relationship between risk-taking and exploratory behaviour and associative learning ability in carabid beetle Nebria brevicollis females by quantifying the number of trials individuals required to reach criterion during an associative learning task (‘learning performance’). By referring to a number of studies on Joseph Conrad as well as to critical works on the novella as a modern narrative form (from Henry James to Leibowitz, Nemerov and Kundera), this article explores how a reading of Heart of Darkness as a short novel can add new nuances to a better appreciation of Conrad's masterpiece.

Bakalaura darbā ir aplūkoti Rūdolfa Blaumaņa noveļu dramatizējumi un iestudējumi Latvijas teātros laika posmā no 2010.gada līdz 2020.gadam. Kopā tika analizēti septiņi dažādi dramatizējumi un iestudējumi, un veikta analīze četrām R.Blaumaņa novelēm un vienam stāstam. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izprast, kādas ir R.Blaumaņa noveļu dramatizējumu un iestudējumu tendences pēdējā desmitgadē latviešu teātrī. Darba pētniecisko pamatu veido dramatizējumu un iestudējumu analīze, savukārt teorētisko materiālu veido zinātniskie raksti un izrāžu recenzijas. Bakalaura darbā ir izpētītas galvenās tendences R.Blaumaņa noveļu dramatizējumos un iestudējumos pēdējā desmitgadē.
