Human well-being highly depends on ecosystem services and this dependence is expected to increase in the future with increasing population and economic growth. Studies that investigate trade-offs between ecosystem services are urgently needed for informing policy-makers. We examine the trade-offs between a provisioning (revenues from timber selling) and regulating (carbon storage and sequestration) ecosystem services among seven alternative forest management regimes in a large boreal forest production landscape. Analyses regarding clauses with a cognate object (CO), e.g. Alice laughed a scornful laugh, have frequently been based on the query: is the CO an adjunct or a complement? This paper aims to contribute to the debate with an alternative suggestion: the CO functions as a noun predicate licensing the subject, to which it assigns a semantic role, whilst the verb functions as a support (a ‘light verb’). A number of the well-known properties of COs, e.g. certain constraints on the determiner, appear to corroborate this analysis. Mobile-edge cloud computing is a new cloud platform to provide pervasive and agile computation augmenting services for mobile devices (MDs) at anytime and anywhere by endowing ubiquitous radio access networks with computing capabilities. Surrogate assisted interactive multiobjective optimization in energy system design of buildings

In this paper, we develop a novel evolutionary interactive method called interactive K-RVEA, which is suitable for computationally expensive problems. We use surrogate models to replace the original expensive objective functions to reduce the computation time. Typically, in interactive methods, a decision maker provides some preferences iteratively and the optimization algorithm narrows the search according to those preferences. However, working with surrogate model swill introduce some inaccuracy to the preferences, and therefore, it would be desirable that the decision maker can work with the solutions that are evaluated with the original objective functions. The objective is to obtain an embedded system using a microcontroller that will communicate with other devices over a specific protocol (SENSLOG) over TCP/IP for sensors applications. The protocol has been designed for this application, but the commands are generic. They can be used for any type of sensing. We must take into account that this program will run in a microcontroller and it will communicate with another program running in a PC. The protocol is based on commands, like SMTP. À partir d’exemples caractéristiques issus d’un corpus de 2 115 structures passives tirées de la revue britannique The Lancet, j’ai réalisé une classification originale de ces diathèses passives en trois grandes catégories, à savoir la détermination passive simple, la détermination passive complexe et la détermination passive tronquée. Après avoir précisé en quoi ces opérations de détermination correspondaient à une stratégie énonciative particulière — qu’elle soit réfléchie ou spontanée — mise en œuvre par les médecins, j’ai analysé quelques formes extrêmes, ou déterminations particulières, notamment celles présentées sous la forme d’adjectifs composés.
