Celmu augstuma ietekmes novērtējums uz sakņu piepes Heterobasidion spp. un lielās pergamentsēnes Phlebiopsis gigantea attīstību maza diametra priežu …

2020

Heterobasidion annosum (Fr.) Bref s.l. sakņu trupe Eiropas Savienībā katru gadu izraisa ievērojamus ekonomiskos zaudējumus – aptuveni 790 milionus eiro. Lai ierobežotu trupes izplatību Latvijā skuju koku celmi diametrā virs 10 cm tiek apstrādāti ar bioloģiskiem preparātiem, kas satur lielās pergamentsēnes Phlebiopsis gigantea sporas. Līdzšinējos pētījumos konstatēts, ka dabiskā P. gigantea nevar efektīvi ierobežot Heterobasidion spp. izplatību. Lai noteiktu Heterobasidion spp. un dabiskās P. gigantea attīstību maza diametra, dažādu augstumu priežu celmos, trīs parauglaukumos analizēti 300 celmi diametrā no 4 līdz 10 cm: puse no tiem 15 cm augsti un puse 50 cm augsti; 120 celmi apstrādāti ar…

Individualized Template MRI Is a Valid and Reliable Alternative to Individual MRI for Spatial Tracking in Navigated TMS Studies in Healthy Subjects

2020

Objectives: Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) provides significant benefits over classic TMS. Yet, the acquisition of individual structural magnetic resonance images (MRIindividual) is a time-consuming, expensive, and not feasible prerequisite in all subjects for spatial tracking and anatomical guidance in nTMS studies. We hypothesize that spatial transformation can be used to adjust MRI templates to individual head shapes (MRIwarped) and that TMS parameters do not differ between nTMS using MRIindividual or MRIwarped.Materials and Methods: Twenty identical TMS sessions, each including four different navigation conditions, were conducted in 10 healthy subjects (one female, 2…

A time estimation task as a possible measure of emotions: difference depending on the nature of the stimulus used

2015

Objective: Time perception is fundamental for human experience. A topic which has attracted the attention of researchers for long time is how the stimulus sensory modality (e.g., images vs. sounds) affects time judgments. However, so far, no study has directly compared the effect of two sensory modalities using emotional stimuli on time judgments. Methods: In the present two studies, healthy participants were asked to estimate the duration of a pure sound preceded by the presentation of odors vs. emotional videos as priming stimuli (implicit emotion-eliciting task). During the task, skin conductance (SC) was measured as an index of arousal. Results: Olfactory stimuli resulted in an increase…

The Clock'N Test as a Possible Measure of Emotions: Normative Data Collected on a Non-clinical Population.

2016

International audience; Objective: At present emotional experience and implicit emotion regulation (IER) abilities are mainly assessed though self -reports, which are subjected to several biases. The aim of the present studies was to validate the Clock'N test, a recently developed time estimation task employing emotional priming to assess implicitly emotional reactivity and IER. Methods: In Study 1, the Clock' N test was administered to 150 healthy participants with different age, laterality and gender, in order to ascertain whether these factors affected the test results. In phase 1 participant were asked to judge the duration of seven sounds. In phase 2, before judging the duration of the…

Disentangling the Amyloid Pathways: A Mechanistic Approach to Etiology

2020

Amyloids are fibrillar protein aggregates associated with diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), type II diabetes and Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease. The process of amyloid polymerization involves three pathological protein transformations; from natively folded conformation to the cross-β conformation, from biophysically soluble to insoluble, and from biologically functional to non-functional. While amyloids share a similar cross-β conformation, the biophysical transformation can either take place spontaneously via a homogeneous nucleation mechanism (HON) or catalytically on an exogenous surface via a heterogeneous nucleation mechanism (HEN). Here, we postulate that…

Project DyAdd : Nonlinguistic theories of dyslexia predict intelligence

2020

Two themes have puzzled the research on developmental and learning disorders for decades. First, some of the risk and protective factors behind developmental challenges are suggested to be shared and some to be specific for a given condition. Second, language-based learning difficulties like dyslexia are suggested to result from or correlate with also nonlinguistic aspects of information processing. In the current study, we investigated how adults with developmental dyslexia and ADHD as well as healthy controls cluster across various dimensions designed to tap the prominent nonlinguistic theories of dyslexia. Participants were 18–55-year-old adults with dyslexia (n = 36), ADHD (n = 22), and…

Energy crops: the link between education and science

2018

Włączenie do bilansu energetycznego przemysłu rolno - spożywczego paliw biologicznych jako odnawialnych zasobów gromadzenia energii słonecznej jest obecnie jednym z najważniejszych zadań rozwojowych. Jednak korzystanie z energii biomasy jest ograniczone technologicznie, brakiem odpowiedniego sprzętu i specjalistów. W ciągu 10 lat pracy badawczej prowadzono badania teoretyczno - praktyczne poświęcone możliwościom upraw roślin energetycznych. Podstawą badań teoretycznych był znaczący przegląd literatury i materiałów z publikacji naukowych krajowych i zagranicznych, technik przetwarzania i odpowiedniego doradztwa naukowego. Do przeglądu analitycznego literatury wykorzystaliśmy ogólne naukowe m…

Funcions executives i processament emocional en trastorns alimentaris i en l'obesitat

2019

2020
