Osservazioni preliminari sul germoplasma spontaneo di mirto (Myrtus communis L.) siciliano

Tra le specie presenti allo stato spontaneo della flora mediterranea, il mirto occupa una posizione di rilievo per le sue molteplici applicazioni nei settori alimentare, farmaceutico, cosmetico e vivaistico. Il Dipartimento A.A.T. dell'Università degli Studi di Palermo, in collaborazione con il Consorzio Co.Ri.S.S.I.A. di Palermo, ha avviato un programma di raccolta e valutazione di germoplasma spontaneo di mirto. Nel 2006, sono state effettuate osservazioni preliminari su n. 9 biotipi di mirto collezionari in campo catalogo. Nel presente lavoro si riportano i primi risultati sulle caratteristiche feno-morfologiche e biometriche dei biotipi esaminati.

Holocene sea level change in Malta

A multidisciplinary approach has been applied to study sea level changes along the coast of Malta using data collected from underwater archaeological remains. The elevation of archaeological markers have been compared with predicted sea level curves providing new bodies of evidence that outline the vertical tectonic behaviour of this region, allowing estimation of the relative sea level changes that occurred in this area of the Mediterranean since the Bronze Age. During the Roman Age, sea level was at −1.36 ± 0.1 m, while in the Midde Age it was at −0.56 ± 0.2 m, in agreement with previous estimations for the Mediterranean region. Cilvēka 14. hromosomas proteasomu gēnu polimorfismu asociāciju ar multiplo sklerozi izpēte Latvijas populācijā

Proteasomālo gēnu polimorfismi ir autoimūnu slimību riska faktori. Lai novērtētu potenciālus multiplās sklerozes (MS) biomarķierus Latvijas populācijā, veicām proteasomālo gēnu PSMA6 un PSMC6 polimorfismu genotipēšanu 280 pacientiem ar MS diagnozi, ko salīdzinājām ar iepriekš ievāktiem datiem no 305 kontrolēm ar mērķi izpētīt iespējamo asociāciju starp šo lokusu polimorfismiem un MS. Tālākā analīzē kombinācijā ar iepriekšējiem PSMA3 polimorfismu genotipēšanas datiem atradām divus klīniski nozīmīgus multi-lokusu genotipus un trīs klīniski nozīmīgus haplotipus. RAZIONALE. Il nostro obiettivo è stato quello di analizzare la relazione tra livelli plasmatici di VitaminaD (VitD) e valori di pressione arteriosa clinica ed ambulatoria in ipertesi essenziali e di identificare un’eventuale associazione fra l’ipertensione e i polimorfismi del gene VDR, FokI e BsmI. CASISTICA E METODI. Abbiamo arruolato 71 ipertesi essenziali e 72 controlli di età compresa fra 18 e 75 anni. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt un salīdzināt morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienus tūrisma terminos no franču un latviešu valodas tūrisma brošūrām. Pētījuma pirmajā daļā izstudēti terminoloģijas modeļi un nodefinēts termins. Šajā daļā mēs izceļam tūrismu kā specialitātes jomu, kurā apskatām tūrisma terminoloģijas raksturīgākās iezīmes, kā arī akcentējam morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienus, kas tiek pielietoti terminu izveidē. Pētījuma otrā daļa ir veltīta tūrisma terminu morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienu salīdzinošajai analīzei, kas tika atsegti no franču un latviešu valodas brošūrām. Monitoring of erosion on two calanchi fronts – Northern Sicily (Italy)

In the present research, two neighbouring calanchi fronts have been monitored by means of repeated readings on erosion pins, that were carried out between November 2006 and October 2008. During the monitoring period, a gauge station has been recording rainfalls, allowing us to compute the Rainfall-Runoff Erosivity Factor of the USLE model. The research highlighted: i) a general correspondence between rainfalls temporal trends and surface variation rhythms; ii) alternating erosion and deposition phases result in a retreat of the “calanchi” fronts.

Rapid analytical methods enabling the determination of diverse targets are essential in a number of research areas, from clinical diagnostics to feed and food quality and safety. Herein, the development of a quantitative immunochromatographic assay for the detection of the synthetic phytoregulator forchlorfenuron (CPPU) is described. The competitive lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) was based on the immobilization onto a nitrocellulose membrane of an ovalbumin-CPPU conjugate (test line) and on the use of an immunodetection ligand consisting of carbon nanoparticles labeled with an anti-CPPU monoclonal antibody through interaction with a secondary antibody.
